Folks, this is a reminder that boycotting the NYT includes refusing to hate-share articles of theirs where they platform bad takes from transphobic politicians. Even clicking gift links gives them revenue. You do not need to angrily share their bs. In fact, it is actively *harmful* to do so.

I really appreciate Kat’s analysis here (even down to bringing up Nobuhiro Watsuki and ‘Rurouni Kenshin’… oof, another one that hit me hard when the news broke 😣) The existence of myself and my trans siblings should be more important to you than ANY franchise, even one you grew up loving.

The antifascist position is supporting people's rights without wavering. The minute you go, "well, but trans kids in sports?" or "oh, no, I didn't mean deport all immigrants, just the bad ones", you're gone. It's done. You've conceded.

No matter how much you throw trans people under the bus, you are still going to get attacked. All you've done is betray a vulnerable minority, anger your base, and made the issue front and center.
