This... may end up taking a while. Yeah, still practising/learning oil paint techniques the hard way*. *) Look at somebody's painting. Try to copy the technique. Cry a lot. Look at somebody else's painting. Repeat. #Painting #Oils #Rebelle #DigitalArt

A snippet from an oil painting in progress. A pink rose has its base colours in place, while the leaves are mostly ink outlines still.

Squeak. Just sent folklore anthology #2, "Reap What You Sow" to the publisher. Give it a few days, and preorders will be possible. Official release day is Nov 1.

The cover of "Reap What You Sow", featuring the title in handwritten font, superimposed on a colour pencil drawing of an angry grey tabby cat. The background is blue, and below is the text, "16 tales retold from Danish folklore, L. B. Heuschkel".

Study in oils, "Green Pond". Still trying to sort out how exactly I want to do oils for a natural yet realistic look.

A greenish-blue forest pond with a few reeds is seen through dense, green foliage. In the back ground, even more forest.

Another #Cat flashback; Flea as a kitten, napping in his favourite crochet blankie. On hot summer nights like we have at the present, I wish I could sleep like that, instead of tossing and turning like a chicken on a spit all night.

A blue tuxedo kitten napping, curled up in a blue crocheted blankie.

Every year, I face the same quandary. Cut Emilie's mane short so she'll suffer less from heat -- or leave it long so she'll suffer less from flies. #Horses #JutlandDraft

A red Jutland Draft horse grazes in a field. Her flaxen mane is cut short and it looks kinda silly.

This is my trekking sandal. Our tuxedo elderboy, Miv, likes to sleep on it. And he's been able to do so undisturbed for years. Yesterday, I walked 2 km off road. On crutches, sure, but in those sandals. And for the first time in a decade. Miv needs to find another bed. #Cats #Health #Joy

While we still lived in our old house, we had no less than nine regular hedgehog visitors every evening. Several came to eat from our hands -- though we did nothing to tame them (taming wild animals is bad, mkay). #Hedgehogs #Wildlife #Nature #HappyMoments

A photo of a lawn at night; no less than nine hedgehogs are crowding around a cluster of wildvines (where the feeding station is concealed).

Cat Sidhe. Oils in Rebelle. The cat sidhe is from Scottish folklore; a magical cat, sometimes a trickster, sometimes benign and sometimes not. He looks like a big cat, but for the white spot on his chest. Handle with extreme care. #Folklore #Art #Painting #Cats

A black cat with piercing blue eyes and a single white spot on the chest sits in a misty, foggy field of dandelions and grass. In the background, a mist-covered treeline is vaguely visible. Light centres magically, strangely, on the cat.

Whatta week. We both have headcolds. My partner can't talk and I can't hear. It's fantastic. But at least I only threw up once yesterday. Surgery recovery is ongoing. Meanwhile, here's an older pic of Miv, our tuxedo elderboy, amidst house clutter from where we lived two years ago.
