I am not religious, but one of the last things that Pope Francis did before he passed away was visit inmates at a Roman prison. Pope Francis understood that everybody - including prisoners - is deserving of respect and decency. That is a lesson that many people could use.

Absolutely horrifying. This makes my blood boil every time I see it. I cannot accept that this is how inmates are treated in Canada. Watch: Disturbing video shows jail guards carrying out violent, hours-long retribution at Maplehurst.

Utterly abhorrent. [T]he court saw “criminal acts occur towards prisoners,”... and noted how the video showed jail officials “fist-bumping in what appeared to be a congratulatory fashion” during the operation. We've been trying to tell you....

At least 3 jails in Southern Ontario are now moving to "4-to-a cell" because they are so overcrowded - meaning 4 inmates are being crammed into a cell built for 2 people. Two people on bunks, two sleeping on the floor. But please tell me more about our catch and release system.
