We traditionally name our microscopes after female scientists. Our latest are Hilde Mangold, who discovered embryonic organisers; Marthe Gautier, who identified the extra chromosome in Down syndrome; and Dorothy Hodgkin, who used X-ray crystallography to study molecule’s structure. #WomenInScience
