I feel the same way about being back east. Seattle will always and forever be home from now on, I love it so much. But New York will also always be in my soul.

When my parents gave me their Nikon, my goal was to just have fun taking pictures. That included at conventions, of friends, and of all the critters around our apartment. But a small part of me will always hope to one day capture an animal picture funny enough to submit to this competition!

If you need a little joy today (and I know I did!) Nikon has released their annual 2026 Finalists for the Comedy Wildlife Awards. There's something in the full gallery that'll bring a smile to your face: www.comedywildlifephoto.com/gallery/fina... My favorites both involve owls, and are amazing!

“Resting Owl Face” by Ka Chum Jacky Sung - an owl on a branch looking into the camera with the most angry look on its face you can imagine!

“Are You Kidding Me?” by Kevin Lohman - A young own looks up in surprise at a squirrel in mid flight attack, all four legs outstretched ready to land right on it.

Looking forward to seeing what you have on deck, and I hope it brings you much fulfillment and joy!

Thank you, that is very kind! It helped that I had awesome players at the table. <3

Everyone that gets listed in this thread. EVERY SINGLE ONE

I feel sorry for this OP. There are certainly safety reasons anyone should look into unfamiliar people who've reached out. But unfamiliar is an opportunity for new experiences! And anyone who's been on the internet this long & still think numbers matter THAT much needs time away from the internet.

OboeLauren🔜PAXUnplugged @lauren-urban.com · 06/10/2026

That looks beautiful! And a beautiful way to treasure her! 💙

For a moment I thought this was a joke post and it was just going to be "D&D" five times in a row. But NOW I see what you did there... 😆 So here's mine: 1. D&D 5e 2. D&D 4e 3. Baldur's Gate 3 4. Pathfinder 2e 5. The Little Game Masters (kinda 😉 )

Someone is gonna save a package of these and after they deep fry their turkey on Thanksgiving these are gonna be next!

010

OboeLauren🔜PAXUnplugged @lauren-urban.com · 06/10/2026

Absolutely agree! And I am very excited to run it again! The hard part is finding another group of players as fantastic as the first crew. 💙

OboeLauren🔜PAXUnplugged @lauren-urban.com · 05/10/2026

I think I've a better feel for the pacing now, so that might make me deadlier? I'm more interested in being better about getting the tension going sooner. But now that I've run it once I have a much better grasp of the rules and the flow, so I think that'll be easier to do!

OboeLauren🔜PAXUnplugged @lauren-urban.com · 05/10/2026

We all had fun, so that was great! Really loved having PCs so deeply tied to the adventure! No one died, but 2 came DARN close! They had 3 Omen dice by Act 3. Lucky rolls plus pulling out all the stops kept them alive. And narratively it felt good, they puzzle solved their way out of death!

OboeLauren🔜PAXUnplugged @lauren-urban.com · 05/10/2026

If you deep fry a Deep Fried Oreo do you now have Inception Oreo?

130

OboeLauren🔜PAXUnplugged @lauren-urban.com · 05/10/2026

Is it unusual food, or at this point just Oreo trying to get a reaction out of folks? 😁

130

OboeLauren🔜PAXUnplugged @lauren-urban.com · 05/10/2026

The problem isn't that this, or any of these flavors exist. I'd try them all! The problem is you have to buy one of those huge packs of Oreos to do it. Give me a damn sampler size!

There were a few reasons I made a trip to @fridaytea.com and one of the main ones was that I discovered we were out of Mexican Mulling Cacao. We will not have that problem again for a little while.

A 6oz bag of Friday Afternoon Tea's Mexican Mulling Cacao being held up in front of a pot simmering a batch on the stove.

That's horrible and yes I'd absolutely try it!

Honestly I'm surprised Cage hasn't written one of these dice games!

It's time to try my hand at running some horror TTRPG. 13 Omens. Let's go @paizo.com

Two books, one "13 Omens" the other open to "The Haunting of Holly rook" and a pair of stone dice.

"How did you get into ttrpgs" I was researching Mozart's dice games and after a group study session one of the musicians offered to play "a different kind of dice game" with us.

COVID knocked any care about how folks decorate their homes out of my head. If something as simple as a wreath is gonna bring you some amount of joy, keep that sucker up all year long.

Took a quick trip out to @fridaytea.com with @lukemckay.bsky.social to pick up a couple of teas we were out of, and then grabbed a bag of Dicks Drive-In. We almost got the Jimothy tea pet, but that will have to happen on a future trip!

I really enjoyed the first version, and the bits I've read of REMONSTERED so far (I did a bit of skipping around to some creatures I'm currently running) have been excellent!

OboeLauren🔜PAXUnplugged @lauren-urban.com · 01/10/2026

I got an early copy of REMONSTERED! THE MONSTERS KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING by @themonstersknow.com and I'm excited to dig into updated #dnd monster tactics! Crafting combat that is as interesting as any other part of the story is something I'm always working on! So thanks for the preview copy! #ttrpg

If you think an ask is a scam? You can mute/block/unfollow or scroll by. You don’t have to make an already horrible situation worse with cruel, unfounded accusations. Folks are already shelving dignity & pride to ask for help, don’t pour salt into the wound.
