Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I have done it a couple of times 😀 the shock on this poor woman’s face when I opened her rear door and sat down. I bet she keeps her doors locked now 🤣 010

Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 05/08/2026@delaneyman.bsky.social @profanityswan.bsky.social don't know if you have Times subs but this is a great interview with Phil Collins www.thetimes.com/article/f66c...thetimes.comPhil Collins at 75: ‘My personal life? Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 03/08/2026I had a meal at the works canteen of an Italian beverage canning plant, it was definitely an 8/10. 010

Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 23/07/2026If you watch the US version of “Let’s Make a Deal” you’ll often see people taking a small ($3k) prize rather than gamble on the possibility of a bigger prize behind the curtain because a guaranteed $3K is worth more to them than a possible $10K Except it’s not just the young but older players too 000

Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 16/07/2026They need a song that catches on with TikTok. Look how long it took to add Kate Bush ! Years of nothing then Stranger Things does “Running up that Hill”’and it’s “Hey can we induct you to the Hall of Fame ?” 020
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 14/07/2026I remember a “Little and Large” sketch of them singing punk rock songs (though Punk to them was “Gordon is a Moron”) at future Care Homes for the elderly 000
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 04/07/2026I didn’t think that you would 😀 just letting you know if your publisher says “we’ve had a lot of cancellations in Europe” hopefully it’s just €3 and they don’t add a €10 “processing fee”. Unfortunately I will have to cancel physical magazines and switch to digital 000
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 04/07/2026Probably should check who Polly is before telling her she doesn’t make sense when talking about “not making sense” regarding the Lib/Con coalition 😉 010
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 03/07/2026@jonnelledge.bsky.social you can thank Brexit, but I just got a notification that because of the new EU €3 blanket charge on low value items I'm going to have to pay €3 more for your book, apresent to Dad 100

Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 03/07/2026USA at the time of the 2021 Census, there many Nextdoor posts about “people” going from door to door 🤷♀️ Then realtors taking photos from the sidewalk of houses in order to do Comps, and posters suggesting “call the police” 010
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 29/06/2026Internationally I don’t think it was much of a scene. But then maybe I just didn’t listen to that type of music, I remember a UK friend was astonished that I’d never heard of the “Stone Roses” “24 Hour Party People” was a bunch of bands I’d never heard of 😆 000
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 29/06/2026Well there’s “Birmingham Blues” by ELO and probably the only mention of Shard End in a song with their “All over the world” 010
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 29/06/2026Hmmm I just went down the corridor and asked my American colleagues who Ozzy Osborne is and got a 100% response and about 75% knew he was from Birmingham No-one had of Tony Wilson, maybe Wilson is more famous in the UK than he is internationally? 110
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 16/06/2026It’s really jarring because the photos are carefully positioned so you don’t see Ripley’s “Believe It or Not” across the road. Having been to the OK Coral, which is great, and the other missions. The Alamo was shocking Though I really liked the Riverwalk mall 000
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 16/06/2026Yeah a bit like the pyramids, the photos of the Alamo exclude the massive hotels overlooking it or the Legoland just down the road 110
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 10/06/2026Definitely, though it's one of those places which doesn't have many ties to the trolls (under the bridge). Detroit feels a long way away and Sault Ste. Marie is probably the biggest economic force there 000
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 10/06/2026But in your map, if Mackinac has the Toledo Strip then there's no reason for them to get the UP which should then go to Superior 🙂 100
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 10/06/2026It's one of those ones where the maps weren't accurate enough, the line on the map from Lake Michigan put Toledo on the Ohio border. But when the surveyors got there they realized Toledo was inside of Michigan. So they had to get Michigan to cede land and gave Michigan the UP 120
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 10/06/2026Bizarre for a commercial company to be using "Enterprise Free Captcha" and then consuming the free allowance 🤣 000
Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 10/06/2026Hmm would Mackinac still have the Upper Peninsula if the "Toledo Strip" wasn't a thing ? Michigan got the U.P. as a reward for letting Ohio have control of the Maumee River 100

Lauréline @laurelinevk.bsky.social · 02/06/2026Watch for match day bargains, a lot of people bought tickets thinking they’d make a fortune reselling them. They’ll dump them at bargain prices when they fail to sell 110
