How letting your translators brainstorm together brings out the best localization possible: an example. In The Bookwalker, said "Bookwalker" has the same translation in French, Spanish & Italian. Here's how our teams worked together on the most important name in @do-my-best.bsky.social's game 👇

This is why you cannot trust AI disclaimers. And since Localization tends to be a prime target for corner-cutting, those mishaps are always painfully obvious.

I graduated in Translation and went on to pursue a PhD in Linguistics. My flatmate in Dublin was working as a tester at Activision. When I moved to Germany I looked for a similar job, and that's how I started working in games.

Over the years I would go back and read past entries, sometimes to look for advice or to observe progress. I still recall specific writing sessions where, once over, I could finally muster the courage to do something. Maybe I should start again... 2/2

Fun fact: I kept a diary from approx. 1994 to 2010. I wrote every single day from 1996 to 2008. Even if it was only a few lines or just "Nothing to report today". I think it was useful to sort out thoughts in my mind and, let's face it, I had tons of free time back then. 1/2
