The 'random junk people have dumped in the community garden' leveled up over the weekend. This one isn't going to fit in my hard rubbish pile.
Boat on a trailer dumped in the community garden - the prow blocks the foot path and extends on to the nature strip. The boat has a small cabin. One of the windows are broken. It looks run down

Fun little drain garden outside Coburg Leisure Centre - I see drain gardens being taken out a lot now - without regular specialized maintenance they don't work as intended. Often the maintenance requirements weren't understood at install and are too much for the owners.
Stainless steel rectangular planter box. There is a grey pipe running down the side of the building and emptying into the far end of the planter box. The planter box has a couple of kangaroo paw and what looks like some native grass planted in it - the planting substrate looks very sandy

Very sad about the death of John Englart last week. Chihuahua's for Climate Action was brilliant and he will be very much missed in the Merri-Bek activist community.

Just casually helping the kids clean their room and now I have questions. Who's hand is this? We don't know. Where is the rest of them? No idea.
Small pinkish plastic hand with long fingers and black fingernails on a white desk top. There is a texta lid beside it. The hand is much smaller than the texta lid

Someone left this old energy monitor for me at work. They found it in the shed. Would have been peak tech in its time - it's still got the original price tag on - $264 AUD. You can get a reasonable equivalent of this for $40 AUD now.
Yellow orange box with a picture of something that looks a bit like a plug socket with a screen attached to the side. The text says 'Voltcraft Plus Energy Monitor'. There is a small white price sticker on the picture which says '$264.00'

Very disappointed at the news in Melbourne with no additional funding for Greenline. Yes it was an expensive project, but transformative urban projects that retrofit nature into badly designed concrete public space are expensive. Being costly doesn't mean not worthwhile

The green roof at the Scottish Parliament is still going strong. Once again a turf roof. If you look closely you can see a gorse bush growing over the side which I'm sure wasn't in the original planting pallet. It's a decent size which makes me wonder if they decided to leave it?
