The RU, NU and PU tiers in this list by the way are more for fun then anything, I highly doubt people would wanna play a serious tournament where you can only pick from 6 main weapons lmao Might be a goofy gimmick tournament to run on like April Fool’s Day or 6/9 or whatever lol

I think if weapon bans are the future of Splatoon 3, a Smoggon style of tiered bans/ formats could help a as a compromise between players who do and don’t want bans Players who don’t want bans can play in Uber’s tournaments Players who want a more balanced meta can play in OU/UU tournaments

What I do agree with is Bombs in their current state are not healthy. Fizzy and Burst are the only Bombs I’d call well designed and even then I do think they could use a small nerf (50% Burst and like 2% less paint on Fizzy or 3 extra white ink frames)

I partly disagree. I think Bombs should be nerfed so that Bomb Spam is unviable but if we had good maps this wouldn’t be half the issue it is now

Also they’re totally working on 4, a massive conspiracy theory of mine is we’ll get a Grandfest rerun in September and an announcement trailer around Fall26 Winter27 S3 is an afterthought, which sucks because this game will be stuck in 52 Blaster meta. But I do genuinely think it’s time we move on

I could rant about this games balance for hours but ultimately I would MUCH rather a 52 with a throw away special vs 52 with Booyah and Armor (and cheeper shots and LDE) or “I missed my shot, gg they popped Kraken and I die” Splatoon 3’s worst meta still clears S1 and 2 by a MILE

To be fair, I still would much rather fight S3 v52 then S2 K52, with armor chaining to it, Booyah AND wall and cheeper shots that thing was a nightmare Not defending it, but if you were forced to get your hand chopped off or jump, naked into a vat of boiling acid, you choose losing your hand

…I would rather see reworks to make them healthier for the game (Areo/Nova) buffs to make them most distinct (Basically all the Short Range shooters + Rapid) or an actual identity given to them (Dousers) we still keep these weapons in the game but they’re healthier/ feel better and everyone is happy
