This was a fun read! It made for a fun commute read and I had a couple of times where I debated missing my stop just so I could read just a little bit further

I read it, and it is kinda gross but it isn’t too terrible. I think I made it worse for myself because I googled the insects and read some Wikipedia articles…which has given me so much knowledge (and new nightmare fodder)

Very grateful to live in a country where I don’t need to worry about botflies that parasitize humans. In other news: I highly recommend Wolf Worm by @tkingfisher.com It was delightfully uncomfortable to read and led to a handful of concerned Wikipedia binges😅

I love that audiobooks are becoming more popular because the overall quality has definitely improved since my childhood. I remember one time I listened to a poorly done recording where the narrator had like 3 different pronunciations for the main character’s name😶made for a very confusing listen

100%! I’m so excited to hide somewhere and see how much reading I can manage in one sitting on 1 October

Listening to the @magic.wizards.com story podcast: Jace, I’m bored. Let’s try therapy.

I’m in Denmark, but I have an American audible account so they usually release around mid morning for me

110

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Seems to be. I don’t live in the USA so I’m usually awake before audiobooks are released on audible, so I was keeping an eye on my phone all morning for the book to become available and it just didn’t even after the countdown timer disappeared from the listing. This is my preorder for book 8

100

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I never even got it. My original preorder was canceled as far as I can tell

110

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

The audiobook has been released on audible. Idk what happened but yay?

020

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Same! I even have audiobooks that have been removed from the storefront that are still on my digital shelf so idk what happened this time but I’m DEEPLY curious

110

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I’m lowkey jealous and I hope your holdtime isn’t too long. My Libby holdtime is listed as “several months” but at least they’ve got it lol

120

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Maybe? I preordered via audible because it was discounted since I already had it as a kindle book. I know on Reddit some people said they had their preorders in their libraries, but couldn’t find it listed for sale. This is such a strange thing

110

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

My audible app won’t even let me play a sample. I’ve tried changing my location with my VPN to see if that helped (it sometimes helps with audible) but no luck. My local booksellers sell audiobooks, but they’re limited on English audiobooks so they don’t have any Murderbot audiobooks😅

110

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Last I checked the book isn’t listed there anymore. It also isn’t in apple’s book app as an audiobook either. I’m on a holdlist with my library via Libby. Somehow they have the audiobook and are renting it out but the wait time is looking to be several months at this time

110

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Thank you! I even got a notification from my audible app and it said my preorder was ready but still no book. This has been the strangest experience I’ve ever experienced with a preorder for an audiobook

220

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

That’s fair! I also want to hear from the publisher, I just don’t think we’re going to get an answer which is always disappointing.

010

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I can share the Reddit thread if you’re interested in it. The audible customer service reps in the thread haven’t said anything of substance

130

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

That’s so weird. I wonder what the reason is for that. I saw discussion on Reddit from people who had preordered and some got their copy and some didn’t and it really seemed to depend on who the poster preordered through. My Libby app has it but the wait times are months long

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I can’t find Rapport in its audiobook format ANYWHERE

100

lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social @lattedoabtnothing.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Does anyone know what happened to the audiobook version of Rapport by @marthawells.com and published by @macmillanaudio.bsky.social? It was supposed come out yesterday but it seems to have just disappeared for everyone, even for people who had preordered it.

I ADORE having a character who loves information as the main POV because you end up with so many opportunities to just casually learn about the setting without it feeling like an exposition dump

Because it can be? My LGS has a regular crowd of middle school aged kids who come by to play. They seem to be big fans of some of the UB content but also some of the more recent sets like Strixhaven and Lorwyn. It’s good practice for their English (it’s a second language)
