When they eventually make a movie about this time, please don't put the male politicians in good suits. IMO, the ugly, low rent tailoring should be part of the story.

Only because of @weatherwest.bsky.social did I know and understand how the Santa Anas in Pasadena/Altadena in Jan 2025 would be so terrible. I'm grateful for how he teaches and informs.

Yesterday, I attended a Brian Eno talk about the nature of creativity and art based on *What Art Does*, the short book he published with Bette Adriaanse last year: www.faber.co.uk/product/9780... 1/
An 18th century portrait of a grand lady ('Mrs Robinson'). She looks extremely put-upon. To either side of her is a tiny storyteller, declaming loudly into her ears.

Artemis II Return
NASA's Orion spacecraft carrying Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialist Christina Koch from NASA, along with Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen from the CSA (Canadian Space Agency), splashes down in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego, California, at 5:07 p.m. PDT, (8:07 p.m. EDT) on Friday, April 10, 2026. The Artemis II test flight launched on Wednesday, April 1, from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida to begin its 10-day journey around the Moon for scientific discovery, economic benefits, and to build on our foundation for the first crewed missions to Mars. Kafka and the Doll on display at the Morgan Library as part of the Kafka exhibit.
The picture book Kafka and the Doll is on display on the wall along side two paintings of early studies for the book. According to Dora Diamant, in the last year of Kafka's life, he met a little girl who had lost her doll in a park. To explain the doll's absence, he told the girl that the doll was traveling and would write home; then he sent her letters in the doll's voice.
The letters that Kafka wrote to the girl are lost, but the story has inspired several children's books. Rebecca Green's drawings capture a kindly, playful side to Kafka that is often ignored.
It acts as a counterweight to the brooding, lone man who gazes at us from innumerable other portraits.
