now I’m a bit more certain 🎯 with the challenge gone, the act itself isn’t inherently meaningful anymore. I think it’s now the consumer’s responsibility to *make* it meaningful. like, randomly dumping thousands of dollars of gaming shit on your kids isn’t gonna make them respect you bro (imo)

I kinda left it open ended in my recent video (clip below) because I genuinely didn’t know what my own opinion was at the time. on one hand, it was an incredibly meaningful act for my own mom to camp outside for a Wii on my behalf on the other hand, things are way more accessible these days
