Stop the fucking fireworks already. I have a headache and my dog is terrified.

Eliza @ladylizajane.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

But also my dog has not moved from the nest she has created in the laundry closet for 2 days. I had to force her out to pee.

North Idaho, this is excessive for the fireworks. I try to just let it go but I'm anxious and jumping tonight. Will be going out of town next year. Poor dog and poor everyone else that will have a negative reaction to this ridiculous noise.

Does anyone want to join my Trader Joe's snack club because I basically just talk about the snacks I find all the time and it's my only hobby

The fireworks with my morning coffee are just great. Thanks for the noise all night and then now making my dog hide first thing.

This job is not what I had expectations it would be based on title and projects explained. I'm basically a manager all over without having time to be director and I really don't love it. Also living here nine months without my partner/him not getting a job yet makes it seem pointless that I moved

I am so sad about this. It's too close to home. City employee, actually near my house. Knowing all the things lots of us are trying to do to make this place better and help people feel safe. It needs more than thoughts and prayers.

Extremely sad and scary news from Coeur d'Alene. The park they are set up at is where I take Chai to play. I'm in Philadelphia but it is so awful to hear this news.

Brought a friend who is attending their first ALA and I haven't been since 2018. And I do miss the large gaggle of librarians I used to plan to meet up with but it's also fun to start fresh.

Our libraries and library professionals are keystones of our communities fostering minds and offering services to individuals regardless of background. We must lift them up, especially this National Library Week, and demand that Trump and DOGE do not gut support for these vital institutions.

We're suing Trump to save library funding. Show up for our libraries, American Library Association.

I know I was out of public libraries for 3 years. But we didn't start following children around and handing them adult books or teen books right? Because my staff's not doing that and I haven't done that and it's wild to continue to be accused a physically handing children "harmful" materials.

Strom Thurmond, racist Senator from SC, has held the Senate record since 1957 for his 24 hr & 18 minute objection to the 1957 Civil Rights Act. It is beyond fitting that @booker.senate.gov may break that record today in opposition to yet more racism & illegal gov activities.
