I work in education and don’t get paid the 2 months of the year we’re not in school. I earn $35k a year to help ensure special education student’s get their accommodations, assist all students who need help in the classroom, and help the teachers because they’re spread thinner than filo dough. 🫩

We recently had to go up to Rhode Island and it was 6 hours by train, so about the same as it would have taken to drive. I was able to read a book and have a beer instead of losing my mind driving around the outskirts of NYC. No wear and tear on my car either.

I watch sales. Chicken is $1.99/lb at Harris Teeter. I’m getting some to portion out into the freezer. Hubby makes a lot of vegetarian Indian dishes (lentil and chickpea heavy.) Black beans and kidney beans are in heavy rotation. Steel cut oats for dinner sometimes. Store brand items. 🤷‍♀️

Misfits Market has become cost prohibitive compared to what it once was. I recently re-downloaded the app and was horrified to see that I can just shop sales at local grocery stores and at the farm stands and do just as well (or better.) 6 years ago it was reasonable, but now it’s a gimmick. 😩

Surgery made recurrence around 3%, so I’ve been doing well the last decade! ❤️ I was told by earlier medical staff that it couldn’t be diverticular disease because I was too young. 🙄 I try to eat fiber and I’m far more mindful of when my body doesn’t feel right. How are you handling it all?
