If a cis woman over six feet tall says it to me in a same-same tone, my mental health is set for like three months. Six if she's queer. If a 5'7 mom at a school function says it to me, I feel like I just got added to a watchlist.

As a really tall and height-embarrassed trans woman, it's amazing how vastly different my emotional response to "you're really tall" comments is, based on an elaborate ruleset about who is speaking and who is overhearing, in which I'm only consciously aware of most of the rules.

Yeah, I think different games have different goals when they distribute authority/antagonism/perspective/agency differently around the table. Understanding in what way and toward what end those dimensions are split is sometimes more useful than just having an equalness slider.

My vintage cube takeaway for the season is that everyone is dramatically undervaluing The Wondrous Wasp. It's a perfect tempo threat (a flash flier for two) that can also neutralize a lot of your opponent's scariest win cons. I shouldn't be able to consistently wheel it like twelfth pick.

It didn't feel like a mistake. I closed out most games before I would have had a chance to cast Otharri! Easiest trophy of my life. I ended up splashing for Ancestral in the final game of round three, and while I did get to cast it, the islands meant I never had WWW so couldn't cast + use Lurrus.

In the end, I decided that I didn't want to strain the mana or introduce tapped lands (two of my four blue duals were triomes), so I left Ancestral at home. Maybe I'll switch it up for round three?

Now, I can just buy a new set of box stickers, but before I go spend hundreds of dollars on this replacement: is there a way to cleanly, consistently, and efficiently shave 2-6 mm off the side of a stack of 500 rectangular label stickers? I agree with you, in terms of whether that sort of comment is really a compliment. But also? As someone who has heard that about my work quite a bit, my quality of life went up when I started just welcoming it in as if it were a compliment. And same thing with other backhanded compliments.

My small batch of reprints of Monsterhearts and Dream Askew arrived from the printer today, and they were shipped loose - no shrink wrap, inadequate cushioning. Almost every copy of Monsterhearts arrived damaged. Very very frustrating!
