I'm Ekslev Vaim, I create abstract art as a hobby sometimes. I like all sorts of abstract art but I myself create grayscale and black-and-white visual noise, like generating patterns, fussing pixels with GIMP clone tool and fiddling with paths in Inkscape.
![Black and white 100mm x 150mm digital drawing made with Inkscape. This is just some abstract visual noise for me to practice painting with vector shapes. For this one I boldly stole a piece by @fyrart.bsky.social, possibly titled "Trihtfethi!", and used its shapes to create my own tribute piece, "Thirtieth". It's a kind of artistic remix, a little, uh, lemme take your work and create something new with it...
What I liked especially about Fyr's piece is that they're also experimenting, re-familiarizing themselves with "processes [they] haven't poked in a bit..." Their "Trihtfethi!" had just the right balance for me to plagiarize them: just enough "assets" that look nice and natural, hand-drawn, while at the same time retaining a very neat composition - there is a figure there, a face even.
The beautiful thing about abstract art is that every person sees something different and even you yourself see different things in it from one moment to the next. I believe the fluid patterns of abstract non-representational art is in some kind of a correspondence with human consciousness: we look at shapes that don't seem to depict anything specific, and enjoy the process of figuring out what it could possibly be... And then our mind plays little enjoyable visual tricks on us, which is nice.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:ku75rlzwjumfpfq33tjxlf3l/bafkreifjvp7xzkkmsb33wzbe2jprcmnyb2afcjpr7e3xuovjbdknxn573m)
