i'm going to be so real, we all need to start getting real comfortable with giving apologists no time or space, even when that means we stop supporting something we've loved. dogwhistles like this feed on plausible deniability, they WANT people who call it out to look like people overreacting

Well, this is awkward but… I was just mass-downsized at Respawn. These things happen and my time with Apex has been a top to bottom blast, my favorite job I’ve ever had. It’s been a true joy to write Sparrow, I’ll continue to be insufferable about him for weeks to come. #apexlegends #apexsparrow

Fred Rodgers on the importance of making something even if other people don't think it's good had me crying this morning. Passing it along for anyone else that might need it.

A man in a green sweater and blue shirt drawing with crayons across three pictures. "Do you like to draw with crayons. I'm not very good at it but it doesn't matter"

A man in a green sweater and blue shirt drawing with crayons across three pictures. "It's the fun of doing it that's important. Now, I wouldn't have made that if I'd just thought about it."

A man in a green sweater and blue shirt drawing with crayons across three pictures. "No matter how anybody says it is. It feels good to have made something. The best thing is that each person's would be different."

unrelated to Alt Text, but Bluesky won't be immune the scrapers either as more people start to make accounts here. Best practice is to download Nightshade and Glaze, and start applying those to your images before posting.

Please use the shield icon next to the post button if your post is Not Safe For Work (AKA NSFW): Flagging your art NSFW isn't a judgment of your character. It's not bowing to corporate. It's not even a statement on your feelings about Yaoi. It's just considerate & it's very appreciated! Thanks!

It's a Bluesky posting window that has a word bubble pointing from the NSFW shield icon that says "Hi I'm the NSFW Button!"

I will say the fact i can just find a blocklist to nuke right wing content off my feed is kinda insane like the fact we can simply do that to them and bots is absurdly strong quality of life here. Just a great way of tailoring and cleaning feeds

Posting this here now since I am becoming inactive on Twitter but I’m still seeing the “sp//ky” word circulating from friends and moots on this site. Here is an announcement about the word I posted in @ayliemjorin.bsky.social and my Discord server.

A Happy Haunted October!
@everyone
Howdy folks!
First off, happy second day of the month of Halloween! This is a favorite holiday for a lot of us, and I am hoping to set up some seasonal events (mostly movies, but may try to do some multiplayer horror co-op, we'll see) soon, so
keep an eye on the Events tab at the top! Moving on to another issue, some of you may have seen my post on Twitter about this month & the very common use of a certain word. I want to state that this is something I am wanting to work on myself, but also within the space of this Discord, the expectation is to leave that word behind. If you want to continue using it
outside this space, that is your personal decision. An article from NPR about the word's problematic
history can be found here. If you feel like this is an unfair/difficult request, l ask that you do a little internal digging. We have always stated that this Discord is meant to be a safe space & we are
striving to better ourselves.
"But it doesn't affect me (1) or people I know (2)!" 1. Are you someone who holds identities this
word was used to describe? 2. Consider that if you are from a standpoint of privilege, people that are bothered by it may not mention anything out of fear of being
called out.
"But no one uses that term anymore!" There are many words that are not common vernacular anymore that still have negative connotations. If it doesn't belong to your
culture, it's not your place to reclaim the word.
"I don't know how else to describe it!" Creepy, eerie, weird, terrifying, mysterious, ghostly, uncanny, chilling, frightening, hair- raising, scary, ghastly, supernatural, alarming, ghoulish, macabre, spine-chilling, unnerving, &
more options.
... TLDR; We are moving on from using the word sp//ky in this Discord. Please use
alternatives.
Thank you and have a blessed
Samhain & season!
