For various reasons, I stopped updating my finished games list about 6 months ago, but this is one I wanted to highlight. Not for anything particular about the game itself, just how much it made me reflect on this past year. Metroid: Samus Returns Fusion Mode 100% Modded 60FPS + HD Textures

Screenshot from Metroid: Samus Returns on 3DS. Samus is on the right wearing the Fusion Gravity suit in the superhero landing pose. To her left is the text "CLEAR TIME 12:37:26 See you next mission!"

Screenshot of the file select menu from Metroid Samus Returns (3DS bottom screen). First save file is highlighted, displaying a cleared game token over the A, Fusion Mode, 100% collectibles, and clear time.

Officially (and willingly) unemployed again in anticipation of my daughter eventually getting discharged from the NICU. Hopefully she'll be home before the end of June with how well she's been doing, but time will tell. Still have a few things left to do at home, but I'm ready to start my SAHD life

My first week back at work honestly sucked. It took less than two days (truthfully one) before I moved up my last day there up a week. I still don't know when my daughter will get discharged from the NICU, but I'm absolutely wasting my time away from her at a job I have zero attachment to anymore

This past month or so has been the longest year of my life. Between my wife being hospitalized and my daughter's emergency delivery much earlier than expected, I've made daily trips to the hospital 39 days in a row and counting. I'm very grateful for the NICU staff and everything they've done for us

I have like five more Metroid games to complete (6 with First Hunt lol) and then I'll finally have completed every game in the series. I'm absolutely putting off the original game as long as possible, but I am determined to finally play through it

I picked Metroid: Zero Mission to be my first game of 2026. I try to replay it and Fusion every year at least once since they're short and fun to run through. Maybe I'll finally keep a running thread of games I complete this year.

It's weird that after owning the VM2 for about a year, I'm finally getting to use it more AFTER the VMU Pro released. It got a surprise update last night with RetroFighters StrikerDC and D6 wireless controller compatibility. The VMU Pro is neat, but it has some glaring issues that are just baffling

Hi, y'all. I still exist, it's just been an absolutely crazy year. A quick summary: • Got married back in April • Saw my friends back in Japan (last 2019) • Reclaimed my Japanese games • Currently expecting my first child Maybe next year will be less chaotic. Anyway, here's my weird honses

I finished Donkey Kong Bananza to 100% (where is my weird percentage, Nintendo???) and I definitely enjoyed this one way more than Super Mario Odyssey, which was also a great time. I hope they continue making both 2D and 3D DK games in the future. Aside from DKC3, the series has nothing but bangers

A photo of a TV displaying the intro crawl of The Legend of Zelda for FDS/NES. The text says:

LEGEND OF ZELDA

MANY YEARS AGO PRINCE DARKNESS " GANNON " STOLE ONE OF THE THE TRIFORCE WITH POWER. PRINCESS ZELDA HAD ONE OF THE TRIFORCE WITH WISDOM. SHE DIVIDED IT UNTO " 8 " UNITS TO HIDE IT FROM " GANNON " BEFORE SHE WAS CAPTURED.

Platinum achieved for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I was excited for this game but I didn't expect to sink 75+ hours into it nor actually platinum it. Some of those mini game challenges were borderline obnoxious but the actual gameplay and narrative were fantastic. I'm still sad about Act 1...🦖

I never thought I'd see the day where I get interested in NES/Famicom games, but I blame seeing the Sharp Twin Famicom in person during my honeymoon in Japan that got me interested. Not a bad deal for the console itself plus I already had a bunch of carts from my time on JET so it was an easy choice

I've been trying to clear out more of my backlog so in the past month I finished The Messenger and followed it up with Sea of Stars. Very glad I played them in this order as it made their narrative connections more meaningful. I might do reviews on my Backloggd later, but here are some thoughts(1/4)

Boxart for The Messenger. Features a purple, white, and red palette with a large moon in the bag round. The titular Messenger and his demon buddy are in front of the moon with the game title displayed below them.

Boxart from Sea of Stars. Feature the protagonist duo poses back to back with their respective blue and orange accent colors with the full moon/eclipse in the background. The title is below the characters in a white stylized font
