Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 16/07/2026#booksky review: For the first third I was disinterested, but once I got over that, it was full speed ahead. At times I would stare off, wide eyed, trying to wrap my mind around what I’d just read, or nodding my head in excitement. Pierce knows how to write and I’ll read anything he publishes. 020
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 14/07/2026I feel like “let’s play count the rice” will be circulating my nightmares tonight. #gamechanger 010
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 11/07/2026#booksky review time! This book gave me pause, made me wonder and made me more emotional than I expected. My man perspective doesn't mean much here (and probably shouldn't given the subject), but I really did feel like this was exceptional feminist writing. 030
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 09/07/2026An oldie but a goodie for #booksky Even though I’ve only ever read Jurassic Park by Michael, this still gripped me pretty much since the start. Some of the pacing had big issues, but I could not put this down! Sci-fi thriller under water? Yeah sign me up. 150
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 06/07/2026#booksky review: For the start of a #LitRPG series, this felt unique and interesting! There were moments that dragged the plot down just a hair. Besides that, having magical cards be the basis of your world (plus dragons) rocks and I’m excited to continue soon. 020

Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 20/06/2026#booksky review! ML Wang is back at it, and this time with a light sapphic fantasy romance. Great moments of action are accentuated with great character depth. My only gripe is that I immediately wanted more, which thankfully is coming soon. The queen of self published fantasy strikes again! 073
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 17/06/2026Is there anything else more beautiful than getting this, and dumping Spectrum? 000
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 14/06/2026#booksky review: I’ll probably always enjoy anything written by @jzacharypike.bsky.social His characters, prose, and pacing are consistently checking boxes in my brain. Can’t wait to see what’s next! 073

Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 07/06/2026#booksky review: This was a disappointment. The world of #MTG is so vast, and that’s what had me initially hooked. Add in a magical school element? I’m in. What started as cozy, or slow (which was fine), got somehow slower, then ramped up in the last 5 chapters seemingly out of nowhere. Meh. 160
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 04/06/2026Brief #booksky review Honestly this was impressive. It started as a seemingly predictable YA fantasy book with somewhat different flavors, but transformed into something unexpected, and in a great way! 020
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 02/06/2026#booksky review time! The rich get richer. It’s us, we’re richer. This book easily cracks the top 3 of the series for me. Just when I thought it couldn’t scale itself up any more, it says hold my Mongo. Seriously, if you haven’t tried this series yet, what are you waiting for??? 020
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 28/05/2026#booksky Review: The little bits that were different or made my ears perk up were great. Otherwise, this was a regular Murderbot plot. It was like eating from your ole reliable diner around the corner. Not award winning every time, but no matter what’s on the menu, you’re going to like it. 020
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 26/05/2026#booksky review: This exceeded all expectations, especially for a debut novel. The main characters not only felt unique, but they were all flawed where it made sense. You didn’t have to like each of them, but by the end you fully understood them. Pick this up for a badass competent FMC 020
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 13/05/2026Another #booksky review I just didn’t jive with the prose as much as I wanted to. The few great plot points were surrounded by meandering character thoughts. I may pick up the second one once it comes out as long as reviews are good. 010
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 12/05/2026#booksky review! He can’t keep getting away with this! The series is impressive with how much is juggled and carried throughout, all while progressing a larger plot and having characters grow. Only hang up is that parts of the middle felt a bit bogged down by some of the actual strategy portion. 050
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 05/05/2026Any fan of Discworld, or satirical fantasy, should not only back this very cool project, but also read the Dark Profit saga. It’s probably some of my fav self published fantasy EVER! 120
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 23/04/2026ARC #booksky review!! This book serves as another example of the impressive ability of @fondalee.bsky.social to create engaging characters with so much depth, and this time in a standalone gritty sci-fi world. If you want a kickass sci-fi standalone, pick this up when it comes out May 5th! 2206
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 17/04/2026My review for the newest from @marklawrenceauthor.bsky.social This is an excellent start to a fantasy trilogy. He does a fantastic job plotting and setting up a gritty world that you simply want more of. Snag this new release when you want something that will grip you until the end! 084
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 17/04/2026Quick #booksky review I’m not quite sure what the strategy with the plot was, because switching to a seemingly entirely different “gaming” system after laying out a vast and interesting one in the first book was not (in my opinion) in the top 5 of good thoughts. 000
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 14/04/2026Those crazy idiots did it. The Sabres won their division and made it look easy in arguably the hardest division in the league. 010

Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 09/04/2026Quick #booksky review This felt like an Econ 201 class, but only for the most relevant stuff for current times. There were a couple formatting issues I had, and it was maybe lacking some “on the ground” or “here’s where you come in to make change”, but that’s just me. 010

Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 31/03/2026I just started this today by @kyla.bsky.social and I feel like I can already speak to economics better #booksky 030
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 31/03/2026#booksky #fantasy Review! This was great! This was a super compelling way to start a series. Epic world building, great characters, with a solid political backdrop to boot. The prose and characters take more to get used to, at least for the first third, but other than that, this SLAPS. 081
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 28/03/2026Sabres need a win today. And not just because I’ll be at the game. 010
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 28/03/2026Not sure how the Sabres only come away with one after that period. 010
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 26/03/2026#booksky review time! The story keeps rolling and again I’m impressed with the character work, both primary and secondary. I liked all the different plot points and pacing, though I think there could have been a bit more focus on certain aspects rather than others. I’m excited to continue! 030
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 25/03/2026And at the same time, someone happened to be cutting onions in my house 010
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 24/03/2026#booksky review time Upon a re-read some 8 years later (gasp), I took my rating down a few notches. I’ve found myself admiring how Butcher blocks out scenes and uses dialogues, and finding the little similarities between this and Dresden is a delight. Bonus: this could be read as a standalone. 060

Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 21/03/2026Quick novella #bluesky review Probably one of my favorite novellas out there. Especially given our current socioeconomic climate, this story hits hard. You’re immediately invested in our character and the world, and the journey he goes on. Can’t wait to continue this story this year! 000
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 17/03/2026Nonfic #booksky review! I totally get the hype for this book. Understanding the relationship between humans and “our” world (“our” = all life). The author does an excellent job in balancing stories with science with real world examples of how we could/did/should treat the earth. Highly recommend! 030
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 12/03/2026Another #booksky review! The idea was cool, the plot wasn’t bad, but the dialogue and pacing was tough. Our main character, a goblin didn’t really have distinct voice compared to others. Dang. I wanted this to be better. 020
Kyle @kylecat22.bsky.social · 11/03/2026Another #booksky review! This was good! The author does a great job at making characters and moments feel real (and messy, which is also real), especially at times with heavy emotions. I struggled with formatting and prose a bit, but for the most part once you get used to it, it’s fine. 021
