Elliott and Rossio one time talked to me about the notion of "distant mountains" as a way to do this kind of thing. It's fine to show distant mountains without actually going to them or even pointing them out. The audience sees them and if they want to imagine what's there, they can.

I’m playing in an Isekai-style ttrpg campaign with various fictional characters (Kermit, Professor McGonagall, etc); I made my PC Syril from Andor, and this may be my favorite character I’ve ever played. He’s truly horrible. And he has to work with like, cartoon characters.

I agree with this too. It can work. Love the run-up to INFINITE CRISIS, where it seemed that no matter what DC books you were following, for two years, everything had been leading you towards this line-wide event. But that kind of thing goes wrong more than it goes right.

I suspect yes, unfortunately. Based on interviews the new Daredevil showrunner has given about which eps most reflect his contributions, it seems like this was the product of the guys who got fired. So I'm not optimistic Marvel will make more like this, even though they really should.
