Crazy. Let people be people. I am super anti genAI use for many reasons but I can still respect and be friends with genAI users. Just as people who are vegan are friends with me, a meat eater. We are all not perfect. People seem to become more rigid rather than more flexible...

I am not a worrier but ever so often having little to no money pulls me into a dark sticky mud of worry. Worry about the coming years, worry about what I can give my son, worry about my pension that already has huge pay gaps, worry worry worry. And then it just blows over. Blissful ignorance.

It only took me 3 weeks but I am finally fitting the volatile kalman filter to my data together with the uHGF, a rescorla-wagner, and Sutton model all using the BFGS algorithm. Easy small steps for many giant step including many lessons learned for me 😅

From the venue's perspective there are often safety guidelines. In Brisbane I had to have my kid within eyesight AT ALL TIMES. If it was up to them he would have been chained to my hip. From the conference perspective, they should be as little disruptive as possible so NOT attached to your hip 🙃

OHBM has offered "family rooms" in the past but they aren't always helpful as they can sometimes just further isolate you. If I wasn't so lucky to go without my son this year, I would show up early at early registration and ask what the organiser's AND the venue's policies are regarding children.

In my experience its always possible to bring your child and they do not have to register of course 😉. BUT there are different policies depending on the venue, which is something the conference organisers can be unaware of.
