Hey Jessica! No progress yet, but the research clinic has given me back my free time, I've been a bridesmaid, and Glenn's best friend, Jean, and her wife moved into my office. So I had to move my desk and computer into the master bedroom for now. It's set up, so I'll be back to writing soon!

I assumed they were trans allies and on my side against bigots, and I then let them opt out of being a good person if they wanted. Neither are, like, huge trans allies. But neither were transphobic. They did not opt out of being kind. They did not try to talk me out of HRT or being trans.

Of course, if someone wants to befriend me and they're asking questions that show they think I'm cis, I get very anxious that they're secretly a transphobe, so I find myself making sure anyone trying to befriend me knows I'm trans. Anyways, coming out as a trans woman is an ongoing thing, I guess.

2026, suddenly I'm meeting people who think I'm cis, which is a confusing aspect about coming out as trans. You don't do it just once. After you're on HRT long enough, suddenly you're put in positions where people get mad if they don't know you're trans? So handling that is... stressful.

So 2016: Not a Guy. By 2022, I was sure I was just a binary trans woman and not genderfluid or nonbinary. (He/him and they/them pronouns were wrong for me.) By 2023, I let my mom and brother know I was on HRT. By 2025, my name and sex were legally changed, and everyone new I met knew I was trans.

When Glenn came out as a guy, it was the first time I had thought of men as being real and not people who succumbed to Old Spice commercials and toxic masculinity. Being male was important to him as a trans man, and in seeing that, I also immediately knew I was not and had never been a guy.

Oh! National Coming Out Day? The first time I came out was in 2016. Glenn came out as trans, and so I came out as pansexual so people would stop asking him if we were staying together. Coming out as trans was less clearcut for me in terms of the official date. (More below.)

I used to listen to their podcast at the gym in the 2010s, and I was always friendly with the hosts. When I nearly died and was in the hospital for a month, Andi got my room number from a friend and called most days to check on me.
