fluxible: An R package to process ecosystem gas fluxes from closed‐loop chambers in an automated and reproducible way
Measuring ecosystem gas fluxes is crucial to understanding the dynamics of ecosystem water and energy cycling. A common method to measure ecosystem gas fluxes (CO2, CH4, N2O) and to compare experi...

Field season 2025: it’s (almost) a wrap! – Between the Fjords
Whilst most of Norway calms down when the summer approaches; in our discipline of field ecology the months of June, July and August are the highlight of the action. This summer has seen yet again a great amount of project planning, data collection, identifying sedges without flowers, cooking leaves, and hiking across Bergen municipality.

Western Norway is known as rainy, but droughts happen and will be more extreme and frequent due to climate change. @kristabirk.bsky.social shared her results at #EGU25 about a drought experiment in a coastal heathland, and the effects on leaf and flower phenology at different successional stages

Hey #rstats, could you point me to a ressource explaining why it matters for a package to be available on CRAN? (Both from user and developer perspective) Many thanks!

In the “Mind your head” session at #EGU25 and there is a sad pattern emerging from the survey 🤨 Taking time off protects you in the long (and short) term more than pushing yourself to the limit 🌞

Forsker på soppens betydning for klimaendringer
Ph.d.-stipendiat Mika Helene Kirkhus utforsker hvordan sopp samarbeider med lyngplanter for å redusere skader fra klimaendringer. Hennes arbeid gir verdifull innsikt i naturens komplekse samspill.

Between the Fjords is an ecology research group led by @vvandvik.bsky.social at the University of Bergen. We study environmental change in alpine and coastal landscapes, using field experiments, functional traits, carbon cycling, species composition, belowground ecology, & many more. Follow along!
