In New York, ICE detained a busload of farmworkers that were actively involved in a union drive. In Washington state, ICE dragged a farmworkers’ rights activist and leader out of his car to detain him. Be warned: attacking unions is a hallmark of fascism.

We have just undergone this process in Baltimore and, while maybe necessary, a lot of the consolidation has been without much consideration of parish charisma. I also suspect Lori (our milquetoast archbishop) is trying to kill the remaining progressive parishes.

UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is. They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there. They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.

I'd actually like to add that I'm deeply mournful about this topic because I believe very much in fairness. And I want, desperately, for cis and trans athletes to be treated fairly. And I can't figure out how that works. And that makes me sad.
