Happy update on this!! Opened up my machine and cleaned out a bunch of dust (and broken needle tips from that time I had my bobbin cage in backwards), fixed my needle that was… backwards… and got some new thread that’s not 10 years old. Went a lot better this time!!!

Now that I’ve finally gotten myself to start learning embroidery, I can actually start the project that prompted this, which I planned actual years ago! I’ve got a sweater I really love that’s riddled with moth holes, so what better to patch it up, than moth patches! (Mind the cat hair)

A partially complete embroidery project featuring white line art of a deaths head moth against a black fabric background. There is a decent amount of cat hair on the fabric, courtesy of my fuzzy supervisor.

I thought about telling you a whole story about who Mothman is talking to, and who Mothman is talking about, but I think if you dig into the posters on the wall you can weave your own story together 😘

Mothman sits cross-legged on his bed talking on the phone. He’s talking with his hands, and his hands have long red nails. On the bed with him, he’s got a mothra stuffed animal, a magazine talking about bat boy, and a bottle of red nail polish. The posters on the wall tell a story about what Mothman is into. He’s got a “I want to believe” poster from the x files, a pennant from West Virginia university, a picture of him on his best friend the Jersey devil’s back, getting a chaotic piggy back ride, ticket stubs to see the e lighthouse and “the me prophecies”, a picture of himself with man-thing getting ice cream, a ticket to see the mountain goats concert, and the album cover to weezer’s blue album but all the band members are monsters, including th Jersey devil, Nessie, gill-man, and Mothman.
