Going through the MUJI BGM record as I do and encounter a track like "this has the same sounds as the Alien 9 OST, I wonder what that synth is" and then look and oh, it's the same composer. Well then youtu.be/nkEOvsKVCSU

I am not sure there is one. Just subculture with canons. I like ATLUS stuff and that isn't represented here bc I specifically wanted to aim for stuff I played that feels like a place I know or otherwise is tonally very familiar

when I think of formative "tones"; the familiar, idiosyncratic, soothing ambiance and styles, it's clear i am broadly underread

I feel like going after your clearest desire is generally better than postponing. maybe you just don't feel ready yet? idk but you become a different person in edu, opportunities open, you meet new people ... anything can happen. and I'm not even a "go to uni" person. just, if you clearly want it...

This is fundamentally the Linux way imo, lots of horizontally organised crews; one big unified coherent system is, like, BSD.

really enjoyed 'philosophy of the tourist' recently
In the twenty-first-century order, rhizomic mobilisation without misdelivery can only resemble the biopower of Empire. All resistance must begin with the reperformance of misdelivery. I will call this the principle of the tourist. The new solidarity of the twenty-first century begins there.

But since philosophy and religion are inherently activities that strive towards universality, there is actually a contradiction here: a religion that is simply private—something that one might believe in as a mere hobby—is no longer a religion or anything resembling one. But this is all that is allowed in contemporary society, and Rorty believes that this is a good thing.

There happens to be a suffering human before us. We cannot help but approach them. We empathise. For Rorty, this is the basis of solidarity, the basis of ‘us’, and the basis of society. Isn’t this precisely the operation of misdelivery where rewirings create a small-world graph?> Historically, the Japanese ie has been imagined to be something quite different from the nuclear family. It is said that the ie is centred on economic community rather than blood relations, and is an organisation that can expand relatively flexibly through adoption. It is precisely for this reason that Japanese society was able to smoothly adapt to modernisation by reinterpreting private enterprises as ie.
> — p. 175

> Since the family is a contingent existence in the first place, it can be expanded through chance.
> — p. 176

> To flip this around, it also means that any group that lives together and ‘eats out of the same pot’ can be understood as a family, regardless of sex or reproduction—such a dynamism has existed around the world and continues to exist today.
> — p. 176

> In Japan the word ‘family’ has actually been used with far more flexibility than has been suggested thus far. I say this because lately it has become common for pets such as dogs and cats to be considered as ‘family’. Of course, they are not legally family. But it is an incontrovertible fact that in our society an increasing number of people call their pets ‘family’. There is even health insurance for pets. The expandability of the concept of the family appears here in an extreme form. Because membership in a family can be supported solely with private feelings of love, at times it can even overcome species boundaries—a misdelivery brought on by compassion.Deleuze once wrote that, while the masochist only has the ego, in contrast the sadist only has the superego. Having only the superego means having only a system that is beyond the ego. When I refer to the libertarian as a sadist, it is based on this understanding of sadism. The libertarian/sadist/Stavrogin has no self. There is only an existence beyond the self. There is only the necessity of the world, thus there is no desire. All things are obtainable, yet nothing is desired. The disease of indifference signifies the lack of self.

The illusion (ghost) of the child is the return of the lost self. In the terms of the previous chapter, it is the ‘uncanny’. The return of the uncanny eats away the superego of the superhuman from within.

A child is born from chance and dies by chance. And then a new child is born from chance and before you know it changes into a necessary being. Ilyusha’s death is overcome through such a movement. We generally call this movement family. Thus, the impotent subject surrounded by children may be impotent, but is certainly not powerless. Children will change the world for us. By tearing their bodies from the gravity of ‘this’-ness that entraps them in solitude and entrusting their fate to children, humans can finally escape the nihilism of Ivan/Stavrogin.

Philosophers, regardless of their era, hate children. However, we were all once children. We were all uncanny. We were all children of chance.
