This really is a cracker! So glad I got to see them at Dingwalls, missed them first time round, a bit of a 'lost' classic!

Scales was off the chart awful in the first half! I love Reo but he was godawful today 😳

Some great stuff there! Carmel 'Bad Day', such a great tune, a bit forgotten I guess :-(

I remember the video (for Jon's birthday or similar occasion???) I'll check out some covers :-) I found the 'Half a Double Act' video earlier, very good!!!

If you can find a copy of the Chimpanman album (you'll be lucky!) you should definitely pick one up!!!

Oh wow! That's nearly 20 years ago and it was before the Phil Wilson Budvar gig ... I thought it was the other way round but time plays tricks I guess :-) They were great nights and the Chimps really were an undervalued band! Still cherish that album ❤️

I'd forgotten all about the album launch gig at the Wellingborough Castle!! Any idea when that was?!?!?

Hi Jim! I missed the JM gig :-( but still fondly remember the Phil Wilson one and getting a chance to sing with you guys!

Hey Wally, this is from a time when I kinda shared a bill with Phil Wilson :-)

One of those nights I so wish I had been at 😩

Kobayashi Bookstore @kobayashibookstore.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

I was far more honest back then 😀 in those pre internet days how crazy was it discovering bands from the other side of the world!!!

Kobayashi Bookstore @kobayashibookstore.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

Have you read In Live With These Times by Roger Shepherd? It’s a great book! Yes I think there was disagreement about how official it was … or wasn’t 😀

I love Flying Nun! Back in the eighties they sent me a load of stuff… Chills, Verlaines, Sneaky Feelings and just said pay us if you like them! 😀

We were there too! Yeah the questions were random and some of the ‘calling out’ from the audience a bit annoying 😳 Have you got Lawrence tickets?

110

Kobayashi Bookstore @kobayashibookstore.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

A great read, Will and Lawrence (if he shows) are scheduled to speak at Walthamstow Trades in December ... alas it's sold out 😢

So many obvious ones but how about John Brand who produced 'High Land Hard Rain' and 'Before Hollywood'??? What was he like to work with @lindymorrison.bsky.social ???
