Well, I didn't find the mushroom I was looking for, but I did find some incredibly photogenic amanitas. Yes I know it's cliché, but LOOK AT THEM. Absolutely spotless. #fungifriends

A photo of a very fancy mushroom family of five

A photo of just one, but nonetheless incredibly fancy mushroom

A top view photo of the previous fancy mushroom. Absolutely perfect specimen.

If I'm low on inspiration, I can still always paint a little house on a little island. I don't think the guy who lives here was expecting company.

Some of you may not be familiar with Näcken/Nøkken, but all you really need to know about it is that if you ever come across a naked dude playing violin in the water - Do not approach!

Haven't painted in a while. Been too busy building my greenhouse. I was not aware that I was going to actually build it when I made the drawing, but here we are. Quite proud of myself. Now I just have to figure out how to build a door...

Photo of a greenhouse under construction. It is painted green with a lean-to roof. It is surrounded by trees in the background, grass in the foreground, and there are long raised beds on its sides. Plus a bonus of building materials and tools scattered around. Sorry for the mess.

A drawing of a similar greenhouse, only longer and not so messy.

I'm very low on inspiration regarding my usual painting subjects.. On the other hand I'm very excited about garden design, so some painting does get done.

It is very rare that we get proper snow around here, so when we do, it is very important to go outside and build as many snow ghosts as you can.

While we're on the subject of houses, here are two little kiosks that live in Helsinki. The plan was to relax and make a few easy and simplified paintings.. I did not follow the plan. I drew all of the details...

This is what happens if you leave your hot kettle unattanded.

A watercolour painting depicting a backlit tea serving set up. Sunlight shines in from the window behind, there's a plant on the windowsill.
Three tiny fairies, barely taller than the teacups, are apparently stealing tea from the kettle. One sits on the lid of the jar of honey, which stands on the table closest to the viewer. She is holding a bottle cap with steam coming out of it - we can assume that it contains tea. The second fairy stands on the edge of the kettle lid which stands on the table, leaning up against the kettle, to get her up in height to scoop up tea from the kettle with a teaspoon. She is holding the spoon, filled with tea, just about to pour up tea to the third fairy, who is sitting on the spout, holding out the thimble she is using for a cup.

I know the Internet is for cats, so I'd like to announce that these two idiots are doing fine. They lost their mother at 6 weeks old, so I am their father now. I think I'm doing okay. They don't know their names yet, but do respond to "cat boys". The dog is offended by their presence..

The worst part about not going to the beach so often anymore, is that when I do, all the stones look cool and must be inspected. What used to be a 40 minute walk has taken almost two hours. The dog is very tired. My pockets are very heavy.

Less than a month to go to my exhibition! I realised I didn't have a proper artist bio to display, but I hate writing those, so I made this thing instead. It basically says that I'm very good at chopping wood, very bad at dancing, and I like rocks and mushrooms. That should be enough, right?

Wild strawberry season is almost over. These Nisse are hurrying to collect as many as possible before it's too late, and I should too! . . For my Scandinavian pals: Yes, the plural of Nisse in English is Nisse. I have decided that it makes sense.

Welcome to the entire back wall of my studio, usually empty but currently home to a collection of things I've painted, sketched and sculpted since 2020. The occasion being that I'm exhibiting this fall! Still a bit nervous that I might not have enough original pieces to fill up the whole gallery 😬

Moths in a human suit (they/them) @lycomorpha.bsky.social · 29/04/2025

Good morning #InverteFest. No moth trap today, so here's some bug art from my Insecta deck. I illustrated each card in colour pencil, & drew each insect individually (no copy-pasting of bugs, even on the high number cards.) You can get the last few decks, prints, etc at lycomorpha.etsy.com 🐞🐝🐜

A queen of hearts playing card design featuring a large queen weaver ant, body mostly red with a purple abdomen that has a big red heart symbol on it. Her wings are transparent honey coloured. she has little black eyes and long black antennas.

6 different designs from an insect themed poker deck - 1 card face from each of the 4 suits, and the 2 card back designs - all featuring colourful hand-drawn insects. Details: here's what the 6 designs are. King of clubs, a big shiny blue-green female scarab beetle with white club symbols on its back. Jack of diamonds, a colourful pink cockroach nymph with very long thin antennas and red diamond symbols on its back. 10 of hearts, 10 yellow and black striped honey wasps with pointy butts that have big red hearts on. 3 of spades, 3 green and blue horned shield bugs with white spade symbols on their backs. The ruby card back design with a big ruby jewel wasp on a sunset coloured background of insect silhouettes. The opal card back design with a black and blue ground beetle on a background of blue and green insect silhouettes.

Dang lady!! That's 🎉🎉 You're making me want to... like.. be less lazy here 😆 lol Um, art! I've been really into graphite and witches the past few days, so here's a Baba Yaga gardener with her Shacklings...

Sketchbook open on a brown table. The page is open to graphite drawings of Baba Yaga huts. The main image is of a young witch carrying plants of some sort, in front of a big hut, with three shacklings trailing along after her.

This is probably the shroomiest painting I've made so far. And of course Tuli had to be in it. I'm in a Tuli-phase. #Fungifriends #Knyttir

A watercolour painting of Tuli (A tiny troll or forest spirit. They are naked with big, messy, white hair) climbing over a green root system where lots of little pale mushrooms grow up from the cracks.
