I got to play with a jackhammer today. The concrete contractor years ago poured the step in front of our siding, and it was finally time for me to fix it.

started building myself a new studio desk. It will have two sides that can each accept 19" rack mountable gear, and I'm also going to have a cable pathway in the back to keep things tidy. Lots of sanding in my future.

I enjoy the social indie web. I’ve been frustrated recently that my friends refuse to join me here, while simultaneously griping about either the US surveillance state or the amount of money/influence Big Tech companies donate to MAGA causes. To me, the it’s a straight line between the two.

"We are heartbroken but also very angry.
Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and
friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an
ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a
difference in this world. Unfortunately, he will not be with us to see
his impact.
I do not throw around the 'hero' term lightly. However, his last
thought and act was to protect a woman. The sickening lies told
about our son by the administration are reprehensible and
disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by
Trump's murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his
right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while
trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being
pepper sprayed.
Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thr

I might have stated it here or elsewhere but: all ICE agents need to have their identities revealed and treated as collaborators. No “we were just following orders” defense when the reckoning comes. They should, at best, spend their remaining years behind bars.
