I WANTED to love this movie so much, you have no idea. but, for me, the final product felt soulless and wooden. I know it's difficult to adapt a manga that spans decades and multiple authrors and remain true to the source material, but the Hollywood version read like half-baked fanfic to me.

Like, I GET how platforms like those are SUPER HOT, but for me? They just don't do anything. I even understand the historical significance of shoes like that and how they were a non-verbal signal that a woman wearing a four-inch platform shoe was VERY high class but it just doesn't work for me. 😢

I wasn't ever all that into HP, but I had ALL of Gaiman's Sandman books, and a ton of his novels and story collections. He's never getting another cent from me for anything and I'm still conflicted about even rereading any of the Sandman stories that I loved so much. 😞
