Working my way through Scorsese's top ten widescreen movies Letterboxd list. But what does he know?

That's not how parentheses work. "Pedro Pascal in ‘Behemoth!’: The Oscar-Worthy Role That He Have Been Waiting For" lol

A lot of talk about Dr. Strangelove these days by people who don't begin to have a coherent understanding of Dr. Strangelove. This is currently in the lead to be my 2027 milestone movie.

Wrote this as a joke at how absurd 3x would be. Looks like it will actually be 4x. Kudos to the one and only last movie star:

I didn't realize Alicia Malone's upcoming "Murder at the Movies" is a novel. I figured it was a book of essays about murder mystery movies, but it's itself a mystery mystery itself. Looking forward to it. Anyway, The Blackbird starting now on the #TCMParty.

Reached for comment, Paramount explained, "We recognized that forcing two iconic brands together doesn't automatically make the resulting property better, and is more likely to result in a significant overall loss."

Two things can be true: The Paramount WB merger is obviously a dangerous tragedy and also the earlier film can be free of David Zaslav the better.

During the pandemic, for 22 months I had to live with the knowledge that this terrible POS was the last movie I saw on the big screen. Anyway, to recap a rewatch, let's do the unthinkable and give it a first ever rewatch (for me, and, I imagine, anyone).

The Last Jedi. It's shocking how good this movie is. Something this smart, fun, and ideologically righteous shouldn't have been possible from a filmmaker parachuted into a mega-franchise and asked to sequel someone else's work.

If Verity makes 3x Digger this weekend, Hathaway should play Cole Trickle in Days of Thunder 2 and Tom Cruise should play the "Dammit, Trickle, you've gone too far this time!" old man part.

I don't like the prequels. They're coarse and rough and irritating, and there's ridiculous CGI everywhere.

Nick @kneecogram.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

This is very hard to pull off. Picking a director who has virtually only done TV is a terrible first step. It's wild that studios that make television and movies still haven't figured out that there's a huge difference between television and movies.

Empire PK80. Curious how this will play. On Disney Plus, A New Hope is the best movie in the original trilogy.

Apparently, Tom Holland is going to play Astaire in an upcoming movie, with Sabrina Carpenter as Ginger Rogers. I can see it. And there's absolutely an untapped market right now for some great dancing on the big screen.

Those clippers are amazing! FMJ is the first Kubrick I ever saw. I remember stumbling on it on a movies channel once upon a time, loving it and wanting to rewatch it from the beginning, only to eventually be surprised that I had seen it from the beginning. It just hits the ground running. #TCMParty

I bought a 4k double pack of The Shining and Doctor Sleep years ago. Still haven't seen Doctor Sleep. I don't often watch sequels to esoteric movies, especially when there's a director change. I've similarly not seen 2010, Psycho 2, or any of that stuff. Should I watch Doctor Sleep #TCMParty?

Garrett Brown, who deserves credit the Steadicam in everything anyway and was the literal Steadicam Operator on The Shining, is depicted in the upcoming I Play Rocky. At TIFF, Peter Farrelly talked about how the test footage shown in the movie is the literal footage shot by Brown. #TCMParty

Most movies have a low limit to how scary they can be: they're just movies. The scariest (Taxi Driver, Psycho, Rosemary's Baby, The Shining) push the limit by running towards being movies instead of running away. Nicholson's performance is tuned to this e.g. his little camera glances. #TCMParty
