This is another issue of state v federal law. There are federally regulated plans we have limited oversight of. In Illinois it’s about 25% of private plans that are purely under state oversight, as well as Medicaid & state employees.

To be clear, the 6 month bill only applies to estrogen as we do not have the ability to change testosterone’s status as a controlled substance which is a federal law. We are able to remove the tracking data from the prescription monitoring program for T bc that is within our authority.

One of my greatest disappointments of the just ended session was our complete inaction on these leeches. We not only didn’t advance legislation to regulate them & stop them from pushing skyrocketing energy costs onto consumers, we also allowed them to continue to avoid paying their share of taxes.

Over the last hour, our office has gotten more than 100 emails urging support for a bill to allow @waymo.bsky.social to operate in IL. The sending pattern (dumps of 40-50 at a time) suggests that these are bot generated and 99% of them say they’re from an address outside the district. 1/2

The system doesn’t ask what district you’re in, much less what state, so there’s no way to use this to convey your feelings about a bill to your legislator. The only way to do that is to call or email your legislator. This tool helps folks find out who represents them: ilga.gov/members/Find...

I would also encourage you to not solely focus on the witness slip game as those slips don’t actually reach people’s legislators. It usually amounts to a single sentence (100 proponents and 200 opponents, for example) in a committee hearing attended by a relatively small number of legislators.
