Last night, @snurb.info and I were lucky to catch up with 10 out of 72 (!) authors of chapters in the Routledge Companion to Social Media and Politics (2nd. ed) on the sidelines of #ECREA2026. It was really special to see all these wonderful and talented folks, some for the first time in person.

Interesting question at #ECC2026 / #ECREA2026: “what do we (communication scholars) lose if we adapt too slowly ?” My answer: some enterprising grifter will move in ahead of us, with all the wrong answers. As we saw with Jonathan Haidt and the social media bans, in Australia and elsewhere.

Our audit of Google Search and AI Overviews demonstrates that search queries supporting conspiratorial beliefs return different results compared to more general terms. We also found that AIOs at times misrepresent newer conspiracy theories as legitimate debates. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...

In Kharkiv, five State Emergency Service rescuers were killed while extinguishing a fire after a repeated Russian strike. At least five more were injured‼️ Double taps are the deliberate murder of first responders. Russia does it on purpose.
