This is worth a read…we are thinking more about how a sense of belonging impacts students, it’s definitely time to consider how belonging impacts staff

A Dr Seuss-style story written in seconds alerted me to the power – and perils – of the technology. But how can children embrace it without forgetting core skills?

I feel this one is likely to help with some, I've always thought someone noticing whether you were there or not can help. I may do this in early weeks of one module but I cannot sustain it through semester. Perhaps including advice on how to catch up so they don't feel behind when they re-attend?

Fascinating talk at #ViCEPHEC26 by Ross Galloway on the performance of #ChatGPT on the FCI test. Amazing results on the standard test, but much lower performance on 'isomorphic' questions. I think it's so important that students still learn to apply physics in new situations when using LLMs.

Hey #chemsky - I am working on a book about women in chemistry and trying to track down an incident about a general chem textbook where the authors made a snarky comment about women in bikinis (and parenthetically called themselves out as sexist). Any hints for me??

A5 an effective way of determining whether any change is (a) actually going to bring substantive benefit or solve a clearly defined problem, (b) an opportunity for a post-holder to demonstrate they changed something, (c) different but not better. If (b) or (c), maybe just don't. #LTHEchat
