I have noticed that when it comes to the image of gay people, there is a lot of selection bias for both men and women. If someone fits the stereotype, then they’re gay. If not, “they can’t be gay, cause they’re not, you know”. Gay people come in all shapes and sizes, and act in different ways.

Here is a graph that is so clear in showing the relationship between state percent smoking cigarettes and state death rates that about all I can do is report the correlation, r-0.88, regression coefficient, b= -0.44 and intercept a= 86.65. See text for more. 🧪💡☠️ #Sociology #Population #Smoking

The a,.yx posted earlier is the life expectancy for the hypothetical state with no cigarette smokers, 86.65 years. Again that is the age by which half of the non-smokers would die. The b.yx, the regression coefficient is a -.,4392 which is the change in life expectancy for each percent smoking. Multiplying that -.4392 by 100 to estimated the death rate of the 100% smoking population the means that estimate is 86.65 minus 43.92 or a life expectancy of only 42.73 years.

Now I have looked at the percent smoking and national life expectancy and found that the United States has a much lower life expectancy than the national level data, both sets of data suggest that cigarettes in the United States are much more deadly than they are in other countries,.
