Why those admins in particular? I think they're the only ones with a vision of state capacity adequate for the 20th-21st centuries without the same degree of hubris that developed in post-1950 America.

Fair. I think the last American Government I would trust with that project is probably the FDR/Truman administration, back when we were helping defeated enemies write better constitutions than we had ourselves.

For sure, though I prefer to see it as expanding to other implementations of the "people" class. When all that's needed is a Worship Word, though, one can let "We The People" semantically decay to "Ee'd Plebnista" and it's as good or better because it stops Others from the idea that they're people.

Does it matter if the private equity owned real estate is a single family, duplex, condo, or apartment building/complex? It's always midnight somewhere.

Also, rather than POSWID (the Purpose Of a System is What It Does) I think it would be more accurate to say POSWII (the Purpose Of a System is What It Incentivizes) since that is generally the actual mechanism by which What It Does differs from What It Says On The Tin.

Making pasta in the microwave is a perfectly acceptable lazy weekday night cooking for one shortcut that beats a frozen dinner as long as you don't pretend you don't know exactly what trade-off you're making and definitely don't claim you're objectively superior.

If you wish enough for it to be worth the space/money for you, a good precision electric screwdriver might help with the former issue, and an ESD workspace mat with organizer trays with the latter.

You're right about that. I was thinking less about the women doing side and more about the masculine code of silence that stigmatizes the subject as too unthinkable to discuss and leaves male survivors feeling isolated, alone, and gaslighted by society.

(More specifically on Apr 3 at Academy Cinemas in Auckland, which is a fantastic indie theater buried four flights down from the main central library that still has and uses their waterfall proscenium curtain, and then this past Sunday at The Palm Theatre/SLO Film Center here on the Central Coast)

I am quite probably the only human being on the planet who can say they have seen Jadorowski's The Holy Mountain in a theater twice in the past six months, on opposite sides of the equator and international date line but in the same season (early fall).

Also, after once again having my order called as "Michelle" it's not just white people who get other people's names wrong. Many Latino/a/x people seem unable to pronounce "Michael" to save their lives, while white folks just usually can't spell it. ("Micheal" is common) 😅

As usual in late September of an even year I find myself appreciating California's extensive efforts to make sure its citizens have some idea of what they're voting on, even if the size of our ballots and the number of races and measures we have to vote on can be a bit much.

Y'know, that may be the problem. She took a whole community college course on WP in the DOS era and so may have internalized that every program works differently when WP was unusual and GUI cut and paste have been mostly standard since PARC.

And the buy it for life subreddit didn't exist, so you had you and the people you know to go by vs the larger picture of a knowledgeable salesperson. Though if you were the kind to check bifl you probably also had either a subscription to Consumer Reports or looked through it at your local library.
