Having a lot of experience dealing with financial regulators there is one rule you always follow: you do NOT under ANY circumstances FA with the OCC because they are not messing with the FO part. Even more hardcore than BAFIN.

But I have a friend who ended up with Ozempic face and the only cure is fillers. - you will have low blood sugar. A lot. Ironically you need to have sweets around just to give you a quick glucose hit when you can’t imagine eating real food. Or you’ll pass out and hit your head and die.

- fiber. Fiber and protein are the only macros you need to care about. Max them both. Take Psyllium capsules (eg Metamucil). Every snack needs to be fiber heavy. Popcorn. Tortilla chips. Artichokes. - During your fast weight loss phase take collagen capsules. May or may not avoid Ozempic face

Been on GLP-1’s for two years. Things nobody who hasn’t been on them tells you: - you need protein. A lot of it. Otherwise your body goes into starvation mode cause you’re eating so little. 50g a day minimum. You need to plan how you’ll do it every single day.

I would say that the deal to allow Putin to rebuild Russia’s refining capacity would constitute as treasonous behavior on the part of Trump but at some point I might need to re-enter the USA for family or work reasons. So I’m not saying it. Also, guillotines are pretty cool.

That’s just madness! Here in the UK they sedate you but you’re still conscious unlike an endoscopy and you get to see the screen live. I’ve had 3 and I tell everyone “when the NHS asks you if you want sedation say you want Heavy. None of the weak ass stuff they’ll give you otherwise”.

Justice Alito devotes an entire chapter of his new book to the emergency docket—and to responding to people like me (“the most prolific academic critic of the emergency docket”). As I explain over at “One First,” it … didn’t go well: www.stevevladeck.com/p/256-so-une...
In the pre-publication galleys to his new book, So Ordered: An Originalist’s View of the Constitution, the Court, and Our Country, Justice Alito spelled my last name inconsistently. This is, I suspect, the pettiest possible point on which to open in discussing a Supreme Court justice’s new memoir, and I would never have mentioned it except for the fact that inconsistency turns out to be the organizing feature of the chapter in which I (“the most prolific academic critic of the emergency docket”) repeatedly appear. The central inconsistency of Chapter 8, which is devoted to the emergency docket, is structural: Rather than tackle the subject holistically (as one might expect in a book), Alito mashed together the speech he gave five years ago at Notre Dame Law School with a “postscript.” The former was deeply flawed even at the time (among lots of other things, Alito repeatedly insisted that there was “nothing new” about the Court’s behavior on emergency applications during the first Trump administration and COVID); and the latter tries to move the goalposts away from the specific phenomena to which critics like me have actually objected. The result is to leave readers with a disjointed, inaccurate, and misleading sense of what the debate is even about—to say nothing of how the Court’s own behavior since September 2021 (including Alito’s) has only further undermined the already-flawed claims Alito made back then. Somewhere between the galleys of Alito’s book and the final product (which hits bookstores today), someone apparently figured out that my last name should be spelled the same way (and correctly!) throughout. The other, more significant inconsistencies were, apparently, harder to fix.

USB-C is the best technology in so long. I bring ONE type of adaptor on business trips now (to charge my computer, my phone, my tablet, my earbuds, my watch, my headphones). I'm sitting in a meeting right now using my Mac and am borrowing the cord from a ThinkPad user. Standards win.

The “don’t have a bbq” alerts override your phone settings. It’s a feature Google and Apple added in based on government requests. You can’t override it. The origin of the requests were around “natural disaster imminent” or “nuclear weapons incoming”. Makes sense in those contexts. But bbq’s? 🤔

Is it just me or was the national phone alert for wildfires that just went out rather unnecessary? I'd hate to think of how many women there are out there trying to escape from abusive relationships who just had their secret burner phone go off like a fog horn.
