Huge thanks to @free.law for the open legal infrastructure behind this. No idea if this reaches the people who need it most, but if it reaches you and there's a feature you want, drop it below. More replies = more motivation to keep shipping after work!

Full disclosure: this is also the practical side of a forthcoming piece. Hallucinated Authority: AI Citations as Reckless Misrepresentation, 115 @georgetownlj.bsky.social Online (forthcoming 2026). It argues unverified AI cites can be reckless misrepresentation, not routine error.

Built it because tools like this usually sit behind expensive paywalls. Students, legal aid clinics, small firms, and solos should get to verify their cites too!

How it works: two passes. Authority first (does this case actually exist?), then support (does it actually say what you claim it says?). Paste your brief, read the report, that's the whole thing.

If Sullivan & Cromwell can file a motion with 40+ hallucinated citations, the rest of us probably want a safety net. Just launched cite.review: a free, open source tool (yes, really) to catch AI citation hallucinations. Demo attached.

Thrilled to share "AI, Legal Labor, and the Jevons Paradox," forthcoming in @nyulawreview.bsky.social. Jevons paradox: efficiency gains expand consumption. In law: cheaper AI surfaces more demand, more demand means more work. The profession expands, not shrinks. ssrn.com/abstract=6303419
