Five years ago, when a Seattle burger chain raised employee wages & benefits the Reicht wing lost their minds, screaming the result would be $20 burgers & the company would end in bankruptcy. Today, the chain is even more popular than ever. Never let them try to tell you a living wage can’t work.
![Doodle page of a character named Mireya Fernández. To the left there are three headshots of her: first one is a 3/4 view, her eyes look to our left and she has a small smirk on (text reads "The smirk. Very few people get this reaction from her"); up and to the right she's in the middle of turning her head and her long hair is on the way, she has a very angry expression with closed teeth [text reads "Will show teeth when VERY angry (or if Elia breathes in her direction)]; and down is the last one where she's looking up towards the viewer wearing a high ponytail with a neutral expresion (text reads "undercut"). Further to the right there's a husky puppy named Rika, she's wearing a collar with spikes. Next to her is two full body illustrations of Mireya, the first one in casual clothes, punk-goth-alt-metalhead adjacent - a croptop, a mesh croptop, ripped jeans and black sneakers - and she has her hair loose, she has a "ready-to-fight" pose. The second fullbody is her in her stage clothes holding her keytar (black with blue accents), she's wearing a skirt that simulates a tail at the back to our left, ripped thighs, black boots, a black croptop and a blue leather jacket that only covers her right arm. Her hair is tied in a small ponytail, letting most of her long hair fly out.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3zqdzefd7wfdaafcjtyer7zj/bafkreifn727myjjqblgqjeblbuy2s3x5rbjc6onnoehtdjjuf66yvhn2om)
