Day 14 This was almost my "Ice Level" day pick. When you start hearing this in the lategame of P4G, the lyrics really hit. It drives home that you'll be saying good-bye to these characters soon. Can't wait to hear this song remade, appropriately in Winter. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhaN...

Day 13 Probably not the first thing you think when you hear "Mario Water Level", but I LOVE this Galaxy. I just love the idea of everyone on this planet trying to figure out how to climb the floating fortress, and this music gives it such an urgent atmosphere. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9a1...

Day 12 There are many songs I could have used for this category, but this one was one of the first to come to mind. There's something so oddly bittersweet feeling about this song, that captured me even as a kid, as I played my light blue GBC, riding in the car. www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3II...

Day 11 I played this for the first time two years ago, and this song refuses to leave my head. This song plays a lot in the game, so it makes sense, but I find myself humming it a lot. It's a really fitting theme for going around town, trying to find answers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PBr...

That's funny, I put this show on Tubi last night for background noise, and when I woke up, I ended up sitting in bed watching the episode on. Super good show, probably my favorite Looney Tunes thing in general.

Day 10 Another one of my favorite soundtracks. I love the mischievous energy in this one. It really makes the bosses feel like such crooks. The percussion is great here, really makes the battle feel energetic and exciting. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQTo...

Day 9 Shoutouts to @themegas.bsky.social! They take songs from classic games, mostly Mega Man, and turn them into rock songs, with lyrics. My favorite is this western ballad about my boy Quick Man. "Your speed means nothing if it's death that you're running from." www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hbv0...

Day 8 It's such a good feeling when you first hit the world map in an FF9 playthrough. It feels like the world really is your oyster, and this song makes it feel like it's going to be a fantastic time, which it is. Love the use of the game's main melody. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UC3D...

Day 7 Coming at you from the evening, with my favorite P5 song. Sometimes, I'll just walk around the map aimlessly at night, just vibing to this song,. It always puts me in a very good place when I hear it. The "Where have you been..." is a vocal stim for me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlUY...

Day 6 Pokemon GSC is my favorite Pokemon soundtrack of them all. While the town themes in Gen 1 are great, and all so iconic, this theme specifically felt like so much bigger than what they were doing in RBY. It captures a excited, yet somewhat bittersweet feeling. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFNH...

Day 5 If you think of blue-hair girl important to the villain's plan, with a pretty theme, you may think of yesterday's game. But there are few songs that make me emotional the way this one does. I don't need an FE7 remake, but I would love to hear this song remade. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uB_L...

Day 4 Chrono Trigger's main theme ALWAYS gets me so pumped. Everytime I watch that opening, whether it's the SNES version, or the anime versioning, I always get so excited to play this. This motif comes up a lot throughout the game a lot, and it's always great. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTLg...

Hey, saw this going around, and I figured it could be fun to do this. They may not all be my absolute favorites for the category, but I'm trying to at least make them all from different games. I'm starting late, so I'm gonna have to play a little catch up to get where I need to be. Let's rock!

Here's my 9 Games that Shaped Me thing, and my takeaway is 9 isn't enough games. Kirby Super Star, Spyro the Dragon, Dragon Ball Z Budokai, and Super Smash Bros. Melee were all on here at one point before being cut. I tried to focus on games that affected me as a kid, or defined an era of my life.

Super Mario World
Pokemon Blue
Super Metroid
Crash Bandicoot WARPED
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
Fire Emblem
Mega Man X
Mario Kart 8
Guitar Hero

Oh yeah, I'm visible today. I'll just be here playing Fortune's Weave today. I don't need gifts or anything. Frankly, all I ask for is for people to be supportive. Now, sure, one might say true support is buying your favorite bi a large Blizzard from Dairy Queen. You know... if you're a true ally.

That Phineas and Ferb "two nickles" meme, about one of my favorite platformer series getting an open-world game, with a subtitle that's "(location) Beyond", releasing in 2027.

Kinghost @kingkienzan.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Bitching about Kirby pays off once again. Metroid Ravenous looks sick. Excited to finally have the 2x2 date, and even more excited that it won't overlap with P4R. The first 25 minutes of that Direct was nothing.

010

Kinghost @kingkienzan.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Weird to start Direct at around 9:30 Central, but Metroid Ravenous was a strong opener.

Hey, worth warning now, if you remotely post anything spoilery about a game I'm looking forward to playing, regardless of how big or small, no matter how long I've been following you, it's a block, no matter what.

Hmmm... This seems like new dialogue. I wonder what very normal thing this man said before.

Man dancing with girl in Hyrule Caste Town: Oh... I get lost... in your eyes... that sparkle like... Zora River...

The Direct if Nintendo made the game they wanted to since the '90s. "Let's check out this shop. There are many gifts here. Oh a Sun Hat! Who would like this? Let's try Malon. She seems to like it. Give her enough gifts, and you'll get closer to her. Now let's try the Handbag. Hmm... No luck."

I played a lot of Mega Man II for Game Boy as a kid, and it was one of my first experiences with the MM Classic series, and I found it impossible. It was a miracle if I could even beat Metal Man. I finally revisited it on 3DS later on in life and beat it in under an hour.
