Here's my 9 Games that Shaped Me thing, and my takeaway is 9 isn't enough games. Kirby Super Star, Spyro the Dragon, Dragon Ball Z Budokai, and Super Smash Bros. Melee were all on here at one point before being cut. I tried to focus on games that affected me as a kid, or defined an era of my life.

Super Mario World
Pokemon Blue
Super Metroid
Crash Bandicoot WARPED
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
Fire Emblem
Mega Man X
Mario Kart 8
Guitar Hero

Oh yeah, I'm visible today. I'll just be here playing Fortune's Weave today. I don't need gifts or anything. Frankly, all I ask for is for people to be supportive. Now, sure, one might say true support is buying your favorite bi a large Blizzard from Dairy Queen. You know... if you're a true ally.

That Phineas and Ferb "two nickles" meme, about one of my favorite platformer series getting an open-world game, with a subtitle that's "(location) Beyond", releasing in 2027.

Kinghost @kingkienzan.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Bitching about Kirby pays off once again. Metroid Ravenous looks sick. Excited to finally have the 2x2 date, and even more excited that it won't overlap with P4R. The first 25 minutes of that Direct was nothing.

010

Kinghost @kingkienzan.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Weird to start Direct at around 9:30 Central, but Metroid Ravenous was a strong opener.

Hey, worth warning now, if you remotely post anything spoilery about a game I'm looking forward to playing, regardless of how big or small, no matter how long I've been following you, it's a block, no matter what.

Hmmm... This seems like new dialogue. I wonder what very normal thing this man said before.

Man dancing with girl in Hyrule Caste Town: Oh... I get lost... in your eyes... that sparkle like... Zora River...

Kinghost @kingkienzan.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

The Direct if Nintendo made the game they wanted to since the '90s. "Let's check out this shop. There are many gifts here. Oh a Sun Hat! Who would like this? Let's try Malon. She seems to like it. Give her enough gifts, and you'll get closer to her. Now let's try the Handbag. Hmm... No luck."

🧼 ...laundry day? #b3d #pokemon #art

3d render of a psyduck in a sunny, brightly lit laundry room. he is sitting with his head tilted to one side as the washing machine runs in the background. in the background, on top of the dryer, sits a psyduck looking at a sleeping swablu in a basket. in the foreground, a basket with scattered clips and fabric are on the floor, along with an orange-red rug and a psyduck sunbathing on it.

I played a lot of Mega Man II for Game Boy as a kid, and it was one of my first experiences with the MM Classic series, and I found it impossible. It was a miracle if I could even beat Metal Man. I finally revisited it on 3DS later on in life and beat it in under an hour.

Considering a lot of people already have this on Switch due to the scam that was 3D All Stars, they probably could have had this be available on launch for the service. Having the next game on the service, which gets updated so inconsistently, be nothing special for many people is a major bummer.

Kinghost @kingkienzan.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

Who else regularly thinks about how weird it is that when they made SMB2 (USA) for NES, they gave it a title screen song with the SMB1 Underwater motif, and then for All Stars, they were like "SMB 1, Lost Levels, and 3 should all also have a title screen songs with the SMB1 Underwater motif"?

My current favorite Bluesky thing are the jokes about what Microsoft and Sony are doing, and how Nintendo is just like "Here's a silly game", followed by another post from OP going "Sorry, in my joke, I didn't mention Key Cards, which is just as bad as the mass layoffs and destroying the industry."
