There is more concern about the possible use of AI to “write” the reflection than exposing the horror of a gang rape with a significant number of witnesses.

I noticed this line as well with the same interpretation but with an additional film reference. I recalled the scene in Godfather II where young Vito Corleone brings his wife a single pear as a sign of love & stability during very difficult times. A nuanced contrast to modern marital commitment.

Large seabird of the Atlantic with long, pointed bill, wings, and tail. Adults bright white with cream-colored head and black wingtips. Takes several years to reach adult plumage; juveniles are all sooty-brown and slowly acquire more white as they mature. Nests in enormous colonies on cliffs in the North Atlantic. Spends most of its life at sea, although often fairly close to land, so they are often visible from shore or on whale watching boats. Dives torpedolike into the ocean for fish. Gathers in large feeding flocks, but sometimes solitary.

This is as close as it gets to a 'video'. It's a digital recreation rendered from photos. NH doesn't have a video camera on board. Wouldn't make sense since it zipped by very VERY fast.

After a month of drought, outside the forest the ground is dry and cracked. But within, there's still no shortage of water, and in many places footsteps quickly fill. By thoroughly removing natural ecosystems, we have removed the land's ability to regulate its own hydrology, and so much more.

To many Indigenous cultures, a river was never just water flowing across the land.It gave life to plants, animals, and people alike. It connected communities. It carried stories. It deserved respect because everything downstream depended upon it.

CMU designers have shaped the objects that shape our lives. In 1934, Carnegie Tech launched the country's first degree-granting program in industrial design. This episode of "Where What If Becomes What's Next" uncovers how CMU revolutionized industrial design — and why its impact is everywhere.

On this day in 1963, the Equal Pay Act became law, prohibiting sex discrimination in wages for the same job in the same workplace. Rep. Edith Green (D-OR) introduced the bill in 1955 and fought for 8 years to make it law. Her male colleagues called her the “Wicked Witch of the West.” #WeTheMen
