iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Life is different now. Which, of course it is. Even if I could run again, I don’t think it will ever be the same for me. But I still consider those years to be the best years of my life. And I thank my body and mind for getting me through all of it.

050

I became a different person after I stopped running. I don’t mean that in a bad way, and I think I would’ve changed regardless. Things will never be as carefree for me as they once were. When my only concerns for the week were the mileage I ran, the calories I ate, and the hours I slept.

140

I was so proud of that person. I still think very fondly back on those years of my life. The memories exist whether or not I still have these physical mementos. And yet I can’t bear to get rid of them. The box of medals and awards on my closet shelf serves the same purpose.

My last race was almost 5 years ago. Going through my old race shirts now, I feel a way that I can’t quite put into words. Like I don’t deserve to wear any of these things anymore. Like they’re not who I am anymore. They’ve sat in a box under my bed, serving as memories that I seldom visit.

Honestly the two you mention are the ones I would say lol. I think every kid that watched Legend of the Hidden Temple thinks they could do better than the kids we watched on TV though.

I would SO be down for this. But I’ll pass on getting slimed.

Please play Big Walk if you haven’t yet. Such a simple concept done extraordinarily well. I never expected to get emotional by the end of it, but I did.

Death Stranding is a game about walking that you play when you don’t have friends or feel alone. Big Walk is a game about walking that you play when you love your friends.

Looking great! Happy HRT-iversary!

Whaaaaat that’s actually kind of insane, I don’t play ITG but that seems like an odd song choice for it. Anyways, that entire album (Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?) is arguably Of Montreal’s best album and worth a listen.

The way people talk about classic video games makes me really sad sometimes. Makes me think about the guy who said that "everything needs to be remade eventually", because I think this is an unspoken/unexplored thought in the minds of many. It's just kind of tragic to me.

My favorite other time this happened was at a local brewery that played the entirety of Does it Offend You, Yeah?’s album “You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into.” It prompted me to stay longer than I intended just to finish listening to the album.

Walked into my local donut shop to hear one of my favorite Of Montreal songs playing; the 12 minute long epic “The Past is a Grotesque Animal.” Not a song I would ever expect to hear in public, and yet little things like that make my day.

I have dreamt about my alarm going off three times now in the past two nights. And it of course wakes me up. Not a fan of whatever this new anxiety is which is causing this.

It wasn’t my favorite MGS game, but I still love it nonetheless. Ranking the MGS games is kind of like ranking my top 5 coasters at Cedar Point or my favorite Radiohead albums. They’re all fucking good, and some days you might like one more than another.

Now that MGS4 is available to people who don’t own a PS3, I was a little worried it wouldn’t stand up in 2026. But it seems like a lot of people playing it for the first time are genuinely enjoying it. It’s kind of nice seeing the modern discourse of it, especially since it’s mostly positive.

I loved the Myst series so much! I was a bit too young for Myst, but Riven and Exile are held close to my heart. I miss this type of puzzle game a lot. Have you played The Witness yet? It’s the only modern puzzle game that scratches that itch for me.

Omg you gotta get back to Cedar Point. I’m so friggin spoiled having that be my home park. Eejanaika was crazy, but honestly nothing will top TTD for me. TT2 is also good, but damn I miss the OG Dragster.
