Frändén läser Weils essä "Om de politiska partiernas allmänna avskaffande" om hur partier korrumperar tänkandet.
Weil var en fransk filosof som under sin drygt trettioåriga livstid bland annat stred för anarkisterna i det spanska inbördeskriget. Hennes radikala pamflett från 1943 skrevs i exil i skuggan av nazisternas skräckvälde, efter det mest förödande demokratiska maktövertagandet i europeisk historia. Men beröringspunkter med dagens politiska liv saknas inte.

”Det kollektiva tänkandet är oförmöget att höja sig över sakförhållandenas område. Det är ett djuriskt tänkande”, skriver Weil, som menar att parlamentarismen mer än något korrumperar våra hjärnor: ”Partierna är organisationer som öppet och officiellt är så inrättade att de i våra själar dödar sinnet för sanning och rättvisa. De kollektiva påtryckningarna på allmänheten utövas genom propaganda. Det uttryckliga syftet med propagandan är att övertyga, inte att upplysa.”

Underbart när Frändén vänder sig till Simone Weil i dagens politisk läge som kräver kompromisser: "Ett råd: Lita på att svenskarna är vuxna och förstår att kompromisser är nödvändiga ... Tala om att det smärtar, be om väljarnas förståelse och förklara varför ni valde det minst dåliga alternativet."

Yeah, the exit poll has faced a lot of criticism this year. It's is also based on voluntary surveys at a selected number of sites, so it will never be entirely representative. Some people are more likely to respond, but they don’t seem to adjust for factors like that.

No, I don’t think it will flip the result, but it will take longer until we know for sure; now they say Thursday. The exit poll is a different story. It predicted party votes quite right, but there are errors that accumulate and lead to incorrect mandates.
