Fantastic podcast, touching on the learning something that we don't think we can learn: taking the emotion out; repeating with clear input and zero judgment; slowly moving on until you get through the steps. (the role of behaviorism) open.spotify.com/episode/2BBK... #edusky

If you are in Chicago, try Rica Arepa in Lakeview! Support local Latino restaurants as their business has slowed down due to fears of ICE. Trump wants to revoke TPS for Venezuelans, but immigrants make our city a better place🇻🇪🇲🇽🇬🇹

I usyally have to adapt/ modify for my ELLs, but they love reading from lessons I have found from the @smithsonian @zinnedproject.bsky.social Library of Congress, even PBS! Sometimes my sts have heard a name in passing, but didn't know why they were famous etc- this is all background knowledge!

Our reading showcases stories about immigrants and people overcoming challenges. For writing, Iaim. To amplify my students' voices and give them a platform to tell their stories and dreams and ideas, and create opportunities for writing that are relevant to their lives. #t2tchat #edusky

I teach EL Intermediate, and generally it is my sts' 2nd year in the US. Black History is US history, so we read stories throughout the year, but especially during February! So far we've read about Rihanna, Sam Barnes & the Golden 13, Mae Jemison, and the Scottsboro 9. #t2tchat #edusky

What breaks my heart this week? Former students, loving young moms, asking me to sign papers saying that I could take care of their baby and help them reunite if they get deported. 💔 I hate that this is real.

The Gross National Happiness Index from Bhutan includes psychological well-being, cultural diversity, ecological resilience, and education. It includes our EXPERIENCES, to measure the progress of a nation. So fascinating to not only gauge progress based on money.

I am so worried about my students. La Migra was spotted around our area today, and families are rightfully terrified. It is heart-breaking and I feel powerless. Schools are safe, right? Schools have to be safe. @aclu.org #ELsky #edusky
