Edinburgh fashion designer has work worn for second time on The Traitors
An Edinburgh fashion designer has had her work worn for a second time by presenter Claudia Winkleman on hit television series The Celebrity Traitors. Judy R. Clark had her lace shirt featured during the prominent round table segment of the reality programme broadcast on Thursday, 15 October. The prime-time television appearance follows the rapid sale of two pieces from the independent designer's previous collection, which sold out within hours of being shown on the series on Friday, 9 October. The garment is manufactured entirely in Scotland using traditional 19th-century looms, highlighting historical local craftsmanship to a wide national viewing audience.

Yesterday Tess and I visited the hurlers standing stones on the edge of Bodmin Moor. We were lucky enough to come across this gorgeous white horse in the circle. #magical
A stone circle with a blurred close up of a stone in the foreground. In the middle a white horse crouches on the ground eating grass. In the distance hills can be seen. A white horse is lying on its side in the grass in the middle of a stone circle. The sunlight glancing off the mane and tail. The white horse is curled on to its opposite side in the grass in the stone circle.

Former team-mates re-united for rugby lunch
Former Auckland University rugby team-mates Gavin Hastings and Sean Fitzpatrick will be re-united at a charity fundraiser in Edinburgh on the eve of Scotland's latest attempt to defeat the New Zealand All Blacks for the first time in 34 meetings (two draws) dating back to 1905. Ex Scotland captain Hastings visited the land of the Long White Cloud during a sabbatical from Cambridge University and joined subsequent All Black skipper Fitzpatrick's club; together they shared in a notable Gallacher Shield win before going separate ways. The latest instalment of the international rivalry takes place on Saturday, November 7 and 24 hours earlier Hastings and Fitzpatrick will headline the "Hoodoo Lunch" - the title refers to Scotland's record in the fixture - at the George Hotel.

Councillors back plans to convert former Broxburn Masonic Lodge
Councillors have backed plans to convert a former Masonic Lodge in Broxburn despite fears about increased traffic. Eight people objected to the plan for the “eyesore” building, some fearing it would be used as a migrant hostel. But the principal concerns addressed to a meeting of the Development Management Committee were that the planned hotel business would bring more traffic onto an already busy main street. Applicant, Mr B Omeri, applied for planning permission to a change of use of the Masonic Lodge, 102 East Main Street, Broxburn, from a hall to a hotel and public bar.

Air quality testing continues at crucial sites in West Lothian
Despite improvements in the last ten years, air quality testing continues at crucial sites in West Lothian.  While the sinister looking equipment remains in place it’s unwelcome in one town but needed in another community. Linlithgow Councillor Sally Pattle told a recent meeting that villagers in Newton still saw large numbers of lorries using the narrow main street. Councillors on the Economy, Community Empowerment and Wealth Building PDSP heard that the Air Quality Management Area orders (AQMA) had been revoked last year for the village, along with testing stations in Linlithgow High Street and Broxburn, because of improvements.
