On this Labor Day, let us remember that it wasn’t the CEOs and billionaires who saved us during COVID-19. It was the janitors, nurses, cleaning crews, grocery and food workers with their hard, often invisible labor.

Democrats who think their biggest battle right now is against other Democrats are so mind-bendingly stupid it is driving me insane. Or maybe they just care more about being the *very most moral* than defeating the greatest scourge this country has ever known.

If you haven’t recently used Claude Code*, you might not understand where AI is at davidpreichert.substack.com/p/if-you-haven… #AI #agents
Yes, one can get bogged down in the semantics of "reasoning" or
"understanding".
". But here I just mean:
for practical purposes. At this point, AI agents are solving real problems for me, and do so in a way that sure looks functionally like reasoning or understanding.
I believe AI will have a massive impact on the world, good and bad. For much of that impact (though not all'), what matters is that it can do these sorts of things, not whether it can "really" reason. I think much of the world isn't taking AI seriously enough, and we can't deal with the challenges if we can't see them coming.
So my goal here is to help convey where Al is currently at, and hint at where it might be going.

You claim to like reasoned discourse, but turning a bigger-wealth-tax argument into a pat generalization like everyone on bluesky hates me ‘cause I’m rich is a) false, b) not helpful. We need to curb the outsized political power of wealth like Musk’s or this whole republic thing dies.

Calling yourself a democratic socialist invites the shift to 'communist' in GOP messaging and even to 'Nazi' (national socialism), because they can rely on general ignorance of what these labels mean - for MAGA, but across the board. There needs to be a vocabulary-ed meme campaign. #OwnGoal
