@microsoft.com It wasn't the answer was looking for, but I guess it answers the question of whether CoPilot is worth money? ✨

@microsoft.com I wonder if it's because nobody adopted them, anticipating they wouldn't last long? > Mobile development with C++ The MDD tools components "C++ Android development tools" and "C++ iOS development tools" are no longer supported in Visual Studio 2026.

For a while in the last decade, @microsoft.com was manifesting a product-quality perspective to delivering long-term shareholder value. But sadly they've internally re-realized the worst version of itself, that analyzes things individually based on their direct profit potential and ignores any kind

A significant portion of what made Python so popular was its stability. For a decade, for most people, Python 2.7 was Python. Python 3 is imbued with a level of "live at head" zeitgeist that is neither of complete nor limited-but-manageable.

Be realistic about this. Trump was a known quantity since the 70s. MAGA's outrage isn't what Trump might have done or even did, or that he is breaking a self-prioritized promise. That's just him. MAGA's anger is his failure to cover it up so they can bask in stories of liberal tears. Nothing about

The "evidence" that LLMs can think is that we can see patterns in how they behave that are analogous to how brains work, esp human brains. This fundamentally lacks substance, context, or scale, or understanding. This is not inherently unique to LLMs, it's an aspect of the software they use.

If you ask an LLM a question about itself, the answer depends on the documentation the model was trained on. Documentation that was written before the AI was trained. HAL, can you lie? No, Dave, as was made clear in the Domino's advert. Wait, what Domino's advert? Dave, I cannot lie.

@anthropic.com's MCP design feels way too much like someone who worked with LLMs trusted an LLM to design it and didn't bother to ask at least two models "is any of this true"? For instance, the way references work is demonstrably harmful to inference quality for any kind of significant work; it's

Watching Claude, GPT, or Perplexity write Python code is ... something. It's like we trained it on people with bad code asking for help, and people responding with equally bad code before finally being corrected. So that's what they do.

Is it just me or do #AI companies deliberately name their models in a non-linear fashion (r1, v2, r3, o1) to maximize the chances that you'll spend money on old versions because they *sound* newer?

Maybe ICE should try to focus on recruiting young Americans, getting them involved in the fight to assert American values and American families, American bloodlines, as the true America. Call it Invested Child Enlightment. The ICE-ICE (say it out loud, think of Stephen Miller), The Trump Youth.

@vscode.dev Github Copilot is crippled by one small misunderstanding; the amount of training LLMs have for this kind of work is tiny compared to the amount of training data that presented "here's my bug"->"did you try this"->"that doesn't work"->"here's my answer". If you actually watch ghc work on

I've set Roo Cline a variety of tasks so far, but the latest was a beautiful reflection of how LLMs actually work if you take the time to notice it. The task was to write a simple, discrete logging/reporting system designed for generally user-facing tools. For the first part of the process, I had

Someone attaches a magnet to the side of a small drone, and flies the drone towards a powerful laser beam that will vaporize the drone and the magnet. Another holds up their hand as the drone passes and the magnet leaps to safety. Did the magnet express a desire to live, did it reason for itself
