I don't know the OP, but people like this, I think, generally care less about the specifics of their own research and care more about their own legacy. It's cleat by now how harmful these tools are, especially to younger students, but this seems the very definition of "I got mine, f them kids."

"Fabrication" requires intent. Unless an algorithm has been programmed to return knowingly false information, then following the OP's logic, "fabrication" is equally as problematic as "hallucination." That's why "slop" works so well. You'd think someone claiming to be a lawyer would know this.
