Constantly hearing youths say "that's so AI" when someone does something half heartedly (especially at the gym) or when describing something they didn't like. Brexit, Temu, and AI all used in different ways for describing rubbish.

The Bridge Estate charity’s income largely comes from the letting of property across the city, with many of its properties based in Lister Gate.

Although the traffic is having an effect on people's habits, cycling to the gym yesterday I saw more people cycling out of town than I've ever seen before! Interesting that even with all the congestion it's causing the overwhelming opinion seems to be it's worth it to get rid of the Arndale!
The Arndale last weekend before the improvement works (demolition) commenced. A concrete monstrosity not even the 70s could love, and you can smell the piss by looking at it

The living room inevitably being too small to have many guests in! I guess there's also an element of often being without a living room in adulthood until we get out own place so the hang out space is often the kitchen/diner during our early adult lives.

kevjs1982.uk @kevjs1982.uk · 30/09/2026
Now that's a trend that's definitely with us nowadays - at fellow millennial homes often tend to enter and go straight through to the kitchen/diner - but that's usually because it backs onto the garden which is often used (hanging out in summer, cooling beers in winter)

Both Grand Dad's were front door - one could only get to the rear via three neighbours gardens, and the other grew up in a mid terrace with no access to the back except via the usual long ginnel common in Lancs mill towns - nowadays used only by wheelie bins and nerderwells.

Who wants warm beer on a summer's day... Even a pint is starting to turn by the end of it, but for those who want them too, I'll allow them 😂. 1 pint glass bottles of milk and pint glasses of on-tap beer can stay, everything else 🚮.

Not CET, be a leader in using UTC+1 permanently. Start by making the national cycle signage km - in the short term it presents larger numbers so doesn't attract motornormies to the routes... No point using legacy units on a new system!

Wilko was still trading out of it on the last day of lockdown when intu (the centres owners) went under. The unexpected nature of the closure means we've now got ruins served by a new multistory (that can't handle wet cars*) / library / bus station, at the heart of an otherwise pedestrianised zone.

Nottingham's Broadmarsh was finally getting redeveloped after over a decade of stalled plans, alas it was at its most vulnerable in March 2020, so when lockdown hit it was abandoned and quickly fell into disrepair after being left exposed to the elements.

Councils can do the enforcement & keep all the money - profits go to an 3 way split between road maintance, Investment in parks, and building cycle infrastructure to LTN1/20 or better standards. ATE gets to run the enforcement and spend 100% profit for councils failing to build suffent cycle infra😈

If your vehicle spans multiple spaces you pay for all of them, if it falls outside a space then £350 fine. Obviously no free spaces due to the cost of operating the simplified parking scheme. 😈
